To Wack it Off? Or Not?

Has anbody cut off the Top Loader Trans mount on their beautiful Kirkham Frame? Seems like a waste.

BossCER 01-27-2008 07:12 PM

If it serves no purpose, what would be your reason for not cutting it off?

Just because you are not getting any, you want to cut it off?

Don't "Whack IT"!

Who knows someday you may decide to go to a TKO 600 series and you may need it. Besides, if you keep whacking things off you will go blind! :)

It's not in the way so just leave it. If its a weight factor then lose 2 pounds from your butt.

Who knows you may want to install a toploader some day. Or if you sell it the buyer may want that?

Art Burtt 01-28-2008 09:19 AM

Just whack it until you have to wear glasses!!LOL

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

So many want to lighten their cars, but never think of starting with themselves.

xlr8or 01-28-2008 10:00 AM

A friend of mine is an avid cyclist and spent almost $3000 on titanium parts for his bicycle to lose 2 1/2 lbs. When I pointed out he could lose that much from his butt for a lot less he almost cried over the money he spent.

RodKnock 01-28-2008 10:52 AM

Typically, it's not the butt, but the abdominal region for men that requires "strengthening."

big-boss 01-28-2008 11:19 AM

I am going to leave it and simply skip a couple of lunches.

maurice19 01-28-2008 11:20 AM

Big,
I left mine

If it isn't in the way of your current setup I would surely leave it there. I know my car has gone through a number of configurations since it first hit the road in 1982.

It doesn't make sence to burn bridges that are already built.

hey,littlecobra 01-28-2008 12:04 PM

%/ at one time this would have been a perfect thread for me to post to.

blykins 01-28-2008 12:29 PM

If I cut off the mount my Toploader would fall onto the garage floor, I think I will leave it alone.

bret a ewing 02-15-2008 05:29 PM

Don't forget the "twistie".
