I'll be joining the ranks of the Kirkham world again in the not so distant future. My car's body will be on a slow boat from Poland sometime early next year.

I plan on using the all aluminum 427W ford racing motor and a tko600 transmission. Other than that, i really haven't sorted out any details yet, but i am really looking forward to testing out a 289Kirkham/427 Chassis hybrid.

First check with David that a 9.5 deck block will fit.
Then avoid a FR 427. Get a Dart or Bill Mitchell-based build from a pro like Brent or Keith.

Why pass on the FR 427? I was going to use the block and have my engine builder take care of the assembly with afr heads, etc. I wouldn't think a 427W would stick up higher than a 427FE and considering thy are the same chassis...but then again, I don't know that much about Ford blocks

Thought you were buying a FMS crate engine. The block with AFRs is fine.
Windsor deck is 9.5", FE is 10.17"

What Chas and others said. If just starting with a FMS block and going forward that'll prolly be great. The crate motors have had some issues with oil consumption and so forth. It's worth the google.

Thanks for the feedback. In my opinion, the Ford Racing aluminum 427w is way overpriced anyway.
My plan is to start with the ford racing aluminum block, use afr 205cc heads, hydraulic roller cam, and stack injection. However, i am not sure who offers the best stroker kits. DSS perhaps? Any info on which bottom end internals to use would be great. Ill probably let the stack injection expert pick out the roller cam.
