Default Silver State Challenge

The VARA group (Vintage Auto Racing Association) is gathering next weekend at the LVMS road race track. October 7, 8 & 9th

The local Vegas guys are meeting Saturday morning at the "Flying J" truck stop at 8:30/9:00 to caravan out to the track, get a bite to eat for breakfast at the "Skillet" at the track and then converge on the race event. Tom (of Tom's Motor Sports) will be campaigning his cars and we are all invited to cheer him on.

The Silver State Challenge is a multi-model event and open to Datsun, Porsche, Alfa's, open wheel cars, just about anything that can run on a road course, and of course, Cobra's.

The Flying J is located on I-15 and Cheyenne, on the west side of the 15.

Hope to see many fellow Vegas guys there, Saturday morning.

For more info, check out Vintage Auto Racing Association - Home Page

And when stopped for a vehicle inspection and asked why the brake pedal seemed to go just a little to close to the floor, the response was:

"I didn't buy this car to stop . . . it doesn't have anything on it that doesn't make it go faster!"

Thumbs up Back In Town

I Just returned from Tahoe this week. I'll probably pass on the breakfast Saturday and meet with the rest of the "pack" at the Flying J or the track.
