Default Mid-Ohio Track Event London Cobra Show

This year’s Cobra event at Mid-Ohio Will be on Wed.6/19 and Thurs.6/20. Registration is now open @ The Mid-Ohio School - Store - Cobra Club Event In researching track events the $310 or $360 after April 30 entry fee seems more than reasonable for a first class track like Mid-Ohio. In fact the typical rental fee for one day is $10,000 per day for this facility. Most tracks charge more and do not provide any instruction. I think this year we are going to do a brief inspection at the track Wed morning. So please go over your cars with a fine tooth comb so that we can get as much out of our track time as we can. Everyone should complete the “ Pre-Event Safety Inspection Report” At home in advance. We will do the “Track Side Vehicle Spot Check” at the track Wed morning. Tech sheet pdf also attached. Everyone who has attended this agrees that it is one of the best times they have had in their cars. The instruction is top notch, the track is perfect and very challenging, and the camaraderie, there is none better. If you have never run a track event I strongly encourage this one as it is NOT a competition. The only winners are the ones who finish the school with their cars in the same condition they came in. Everyone runs at a pace they are comfortable with. There are no trophies or awards other than the certificate from Mid-Ohio that says that you were there and participated. Sure, some guys have track prepped cars and go really fast, but most are street cars that are out on the track driving without speed limits, or chance of a ticket Basically just guys having fun with their cars and doing it safely. No one will make a bonsai pass on you when you are not expecting it, jeopardizing their car and yours. Safety is the #1 issue. Building confidence in your driving methods is # 2. 3rd is getting to know how your car reacts to higher than street speeds. Everyone has a great time both on the track and off. Wednesday evening most will meet at Bucks (a local auto themed bar and grill) for food, spirits and lots of lies about how fast you were on the track. Thursday, back at the track, the lines the instructors have shown you now seem to make more sense and you feel more confident about braking points and apexes. Everyone will leave with a better understanding of their car and how it reacts to your input at track speed. I hope to see everyone there.
