Not to bad..... just two feet of snow one day and 5 inches of rain another. Usual Ohio;) Don't worry about it being warm in June, it ranges from pleasantly warm to oppressively humid to nearly tropical downpours at times. But, we always seem to get at least some good weather on that weekend:MECOOL: Just check the forecast before you leave so you know what to bring!

who cares if it rains

It only rains on Friday for the LCS.
I missed the first year but have attend the rest. I think it has rained on the last two Fridays but that did not stop us. We had a great time anyway. Hey these cars are made of the same stuff they make boats out of.
We did drive 70 miles in the rain on the re-turn trip home last year. Had to stop in Shepherdsville, KY for 5 hours till the storm moved thru Tenn. We got home at midnight Monday. We left Columbus Sunday night about 10:30. Long drive. Lot of great memories and a trip that we still talk about. And a few good pics.
I did get a good laught when Coach Mike found one and half inches of water in his foot box.

I've been to all but one of the shows and it has rained on me sometime, somewhere, nearly every year. Either on the drive to Ohio, at the show, or on the drive back to Indiana. But I've never had anything but a great time. Neither I nor the car has suffered from the experience. The nice weather has been much more plentiful than the bad weather. I would, however, recommend knocking off several mph's when it's really coming down hard.

Tires / rain

most important is street tires.

Good street tires that will hold a Cobra on the rain soaked street. I use BFG G-Forces tires. I have no trouble driving on the interstate at 70 in heavy rain. The G-Force tires do their job.

When it rains, just lean forward and drive faster.

That lets the rain blow over you. You will need a baseball cap to keep you hair dry.
RainX both sides of the windshield because the back side gets just as wet as the front. Keep a rag to wipe the back side of the windshield. I have raincoats behind the seats but I have never used them.
We have pulled into the covered gas station and waited till the rain passed. But most of the time we keep going because you can drive out of the rain storm.
Don't let the threat of rain keep you in the garage.:)

It is Ohio in the Summer. Average is about 85F, a decent bit of humitity and always a chance of showers. Best was about 70's worst in the mid 90's. The current forecast does not go out far enough yet and even if it did, it does not mean a thing!

30 Sounds Great

30 Deg is fine by me..... Melbourne winter is not the best, currently 15 Deg and windy.

Good for ya. We run rain or shine. I have bailed water out of my foot boxes, drove hundreds of miles in sub freezing weather, ran on slicks in the driving rain, sat in traffic in 100+ heat... and yes, in the Cobra. Then again, a cold beer and a massage at the local parlor doesn't sound to bad either;)

Seriously, the weather is generally 'good'. A bit hot and humid with the occasional shower. Evenings can be cool on occasion but plenty of libations when the weather turns fool.

stiffy 06-09-2008 09:07 PM

massage

I will need one after the plane trip..:rolleyes:

Can you recommend a place to go :D:D

I don't know of a good steak house on that end of town. There is a decent restuarant right by the hotels called Salvi's. While Italian is their specialty, they do have a steak although I have never had one there. http://salvisbistro.com/index.html

They are open until 10PM.

But to get to the hotel from the airport, you have to pass right by downtown. If you want to stop there, go to Mitchells for one of the best steakhouses in town: http://www.mitchellssteakhouse.com/hoursandlocation.cfm

Last year is was sunny on Thursday on the way down. Rained big time Friday and then Saturday was nice.

I am going even if there are tornados.
