Why limit yourself to just Long island?

NY, NJ, CT, PA are all within a two hour drive (depending where on Long Island you live).

Depends. Ive looked at many. I like Superformance, Contemporary, Midstates. really depends on the specific car and build. Im not set on any particular Mfg at this stage.

Regardless of manufacturer or big block vs small block, what is your budget like?

Are you in the 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, etc range as this will make some of the decisions for you right off the bat. I just spent 4 months assisting someone in finding the car of his dreams (a smoking deal at 55k) only to find out he could not actually afford to spend more than 25K (he thought the bank would finance a kit car, which they would not, at least not for him), so when someone like yourself comes here, I've been pushing for hard numbers so we do not waste my time again.

Regardless of his budget, I know if I had $42,900 to spend on a cobra, I know whose door I'd be knocking on! :)

Check with the Jay at Vintage in North Haven, CT. They, no doubt, can find you a new or used Cobra. Also, take a look in 427 Cobra Country--Ford AC Cobra replica manufacturers SUPER-SITE .

There are plenty of good used owner cars out there on the market. Check out the for sale section and don't shy away from one with 2500 or more miles. Should be well shaken down by then which means less frustration on your part. Try cobra country 427 Cobra Country--Ford AC Cobra replica manufacturers SUPER-SITE to see their listings.

Hello all - in market in NY area - looking for something in the 25-35 range. East coast and beyond. Anyone have any good leads I can chase? Thanks!

** I guess I never thought about a loan for a kit car...(surely easier for me. than unloading 30 -40 cash)....
..
Do banks do kit car loans? Do they look at it as a 'used car'...

this thread got me thinkin about it both ways..

anyone?

thanks,
B

Yes, it's become relatively common again now that banks are lending. This year we've done a lot of business with customers that have financed and even leased... has to be a rolling chassis type build or a used car though, no one will finance a kit without a huge rate.

blown871 11-27-2012 04:18 PM

hmmm.. so it begs the question.. do I blow my $... and take a loan..and really upgrade my 'want' list...???

oh.. boy.. ..

this could be trouble!!

B&B cobra

I have a customer that is just finishing a New B&B Cobra new crate 302 5 speed trans 9" rear all tubular front and rear suspention, coil over shocks, he was going to paint the car silver and Black not sure if he has painted it yet if not I am sure he would paint the car any color he told me he would take 32,000 ready to go. *B&B Manufacturing - :::: - Feel the Thunder - :::: - Hotrods from Kit to Turn Key - ::::

blown871 01-04-2013 02:37 PM

Ok.. so to build on what I had stumbed across from reading this prior
Vs.. pulling MY $ out.. I would consider financing a portion.. as not to yank my $ out of the bank!!

How do guys get a loan for a car?
Does it depend on the make?

Replica?
Vintage?

Used car loans dont go for cars over 10 years old.. but if the car is 'registered
as a 65 but built in the last 10 years..... (that confuses me)

Thanks,
B
