East End LI Cobra Run

Want to do one this Saturday or even Sunday ?? I promise NO traffic.
The route is simple. Sunrise way out to Exit 61, Rte 51N, go around Compy's favorite NASCAR exit ramp, re-fuel/ralley at the traditional Valero gas station.

Commence north on Rte 51 towards Riverhead ( remember past season's grudge matches here ?) for 7-8 miles of continuous gear slamming opportunity.........or just relax and c ruise past the farms. Then you go around Riverhead traffic circle to Rte 24 south for 1 mile, hook a left for another 8 miles of 2 lane dead straight "smoothy" on Rte 105N. This ends at Sound Ave right near Briamere Farms (terrific solid fruit pies!) where we have had past ralley points on the LICR East End Rumbles. Proceed west from here headin home for about 10 miles on a more civilized farm scened Rte 25-A and you are in Wading River where there is a Hess, deli, pizza parlor and McD's. From there it's only a 4 mile hop-skip to LIE Exit 69 OR continue past the LIE for another 2.5 miles for Sunrise Highway Exit 59.
Total time from Nick's to final LIE is about 2 hrs.
If we start from the beach on Sunday morning around 10am or 11am you will be DONE by Noon-1 O'Clock.
I'm liking Sunday myself as we can cruise straight up the Sag over the Bobby Mo and roll right into Sunrise Hwy east.
If there's any interest please chime in and I will make up maps.
This is not a new run. It's an LICR Re-Run. C'mon !! Times a wasting !!

This Sat is bad for me, actually this weekend is bad, but Sat is worse. I will float this one out there to the Mrs. and see what she says. It's her B-day and she has a test on Sat (bad combo seeing how this brings her one more year closer to the big 40).

Thanks

Good for me Jim I am in . Sorry I missed the last one. Sunday works!

JAM1775 08-02-2006 07:05 PM

Could this be my first Cobra run??? :D

I'd be up for Sunday, as you know, I'm at the shop Saturday. But pretty much any Sunday is open for me so I'd love to go.

Sunday Run

Sunday 10:00 at the beach(OBI sounds good to ME) I'll bring the Cobra this time.

BCompy 08-03-2006 09:51 AM

Way to go Steve! Good move to bring a fast car this time!

TAAAADAAAAA You knew it had to start sometime!

Ya gotta love me because it is against the law to shoot me!

Steve Virgilio 08-03-2006 09:53 AM

Only in New York though.

BCompy 08-03-2006 10:02 AM

All members please be advised. Last Sunday at the beach I believe the State boys got a little aggravated with the dopes doing their routine stupid assine burnout contest. A number of us were stopped by the troopers and advised if we returned this Sunday without front plates we would receive citations. I think they have had it with being called down there. Since there is no way to controll this element I suggest taking them seriously. I don't wish to get into a pissing contest with them so I will be attaching one to mine for the time being.

See you all soon.

Power Surge 08-03-2006 10:08 AM

The OBI probably wouldn't be a great meeting place anyway on Sunday morning, since there won't be much room for a "group" to park near each other, so it might get a little confusing. Is there another lot someone in the area that might be better?

Steve Virgilio 08-03-2006 10:21 AM

If you want we can meet at my house at 10:00. I'm in Bay Shore.

Power Surge 08-03-2006 10:35 AM

Everyone is welcome to meet at my shop as well, just don't know if you guys want to start up this far east. But the invitation is there.
