Pic's from Long Island Cobras Columbus Circle Run

Bobby sent me a few pics from the magazine photographer....30 of us through the Midtown tunnel meeting up with 3 of the Joisey Boys. The sound in the tunnel was only surpassed by the burnouts while following our Police escort out of the city!!!

Just some trivial info..we had 33 Cobras

15 Superformance
5 Factory Five
4 CSX
4 ERA
1 Classic Roadster
1 Hyland Daytona Racing
1 West Coast
1 Shell Valley

The lineup at Columbus Circle

Great photos! The forth looking down on the cars is my personal favorite :)

Power Surge 10-17-2006 07:27 AM

Wow, I really wish I could have made that one, but I was out of town that weekend. I am really surprised at how many cars were there, given how many people said they couldn't make it on the re-scheduled day.

So are there anymore runs this year?? :D

Bob In Ct 10-17-2006 09:42 AM

Tony:
Great pictures! I think my next snake will be red.

Can we do this during the summer (early sunrise) next year?

Bob

Bob,
this run is always in october, it's all part of the columbus day weekend and the columbus center cobra club theme. it is also the easiest time of year to get the permit for the parking. this is pretty much the last big ride of the season and we end it with a big bang!!!

Sal, I know Bobby said this is the last "organized" ride but I'd like to encourage posting rides here that people may take and would want some company. An example is the Staatsburg show that I went to last Sunday. What a nice ride. I wish there were more LICC guys to share it with. (See pics on separate thread)
There's a fall ride through Nassau/Suffolk on the 28th or 29th sponsored by the MG car club LI chapter and they welcome most cars. I think Fred drove it in the Cobra last year. I'll probably ride it in the Cobra this year. I'll post more particulars.
Cheers.

Great pics. Glad you guys finally lucked out with the weather.

Great turnout (I had no idea you had so many Cobra's on Long Island), great venue too. I bet those sidepipes really re-verberate going through the concrete canyons. Do it again and send more pictures.

Clois,

That's not even all of us. We have a little club with 45 members and that's just us! There are plenty more Cobras on the island.

Clois Harlan 10-20-2006 06:22 AM

It is always nice to get everyone together for a cruise and photo shoot. Great looking Cobras. I wish the Cobra's around here were better organized. We need a leader I guess.

Clois

We are NOT organized. We work MUCH better without a leader.

Tony Aprile 10-20-2006 08:00 AM

We don't have a leader, this way everyone thinks there in charge !!

P Martin 10-20-2006 08:42 AM

And we don't need no stinkin badges either!!!!

roush664 10-20-2006 09:05 AM

Pat,
Actually badges come in handy, how do you think I get the permit for this none organized run?
not the leader,
Bobby

Anyone still around from this crew?

See: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/long...ns-2021-a.html

If anyone can bring this rag-tag team back together I believe you can Adam, Good luck My friend, TommyRot.

AdamIsAdam 03-10-2021 04:18 AM

LOL. No pressure there! The problem is, this was all 15 years ago. From what I understand many have moved on to Corvettes or just plain moved on! (If you get my drift.) But I'm going to try! I hope all is well, Tommy.

Seeing all that fiberglass makes me itchy.
