NYC Columbus Center Run
 

I am in the process of securing a permit for this years run into Manhattan on October 7th 20007. I have spoken to Mekos the owner/photographer of Stock & Custom Magazine, and have agreed that he will cover our run. This year as far as the Cobra shirts go, I will be doing things a little different. As a benefit to all current Columbus Center Club members, they will each receive a shirt. Anyone who wishes to join the club the day of the run, will also receive a shirt.

We will be meeting at the McDonalds on Hempstead Turnpike across from the Nassau Coliseum at 6:00 am. We will be getting on the road at 6:20 sharp. Please have a full tank of gas, and your ez-pass available.

The route into Columbus Center is as follows:
The Meadowbrook Parkway (north), to the Grand Central Parkway (west), to the Cross Island Parkway (north), to the LIE (west). The LIE will take us right into the mid-town tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, we will make a right turn onto 3rd avenue up to 60th street. We'll then make a left turn on 60th Street, heading up to Central Park and 5th avenue. Cross over 5th avenue making the long looping left turn (around the center median), and then make a right turn onto 58th street right into Columbus Center.

A lot of time, effort, and favors are used in order to make this all happen, so please support the club and let's have a wonderful time!

Jamie, we will be leaving the city at 9 am. the permit is for 2 hours, 7-9 am.

Bobby...I honestly don't recall how the heck I found the time to go to work ! I hate missing the run but we have a big German festival at Hunter Mnt that weekend. The kids will be joining us upstate. I will tip a beer stein to you guys later in the day !

Is anyone fron Jersey going, I should be able to make it this year.

I will not miss this event...
I'll probably wait at the same Mobil station on the GCP to join the caravan

I haven't heard from any of the Jersey boys.
Ray i was not looking to go that far on the GCP this year, i was going to hop on the Cross Island off the GCP to the LIE. There is a rest/phone area on the GCP over by Lakeville rd you can meet up with us.

Are you guys meeting somewhere first or just heading straight into the city? If I can swing it, do either of you have room for a passenger?

My plan is to take 78 east to parkway north to route 3 to the tunnel.
