Look at the perspective shape of the flag in the background and then compare that to the perspective in the relative heights of the people supposedly standing in front of it. Either you're a f**king idiot or you choose to act like one to con others into pandering to your bull$hit - either way, thinking people grow weary of your constant stream of inanity and juvenile crap.:)

I followed the link that claims the pic is authentic, but all my experience in photo manipulation told me otherwise. The shadow of the last person is at a different angle to the others and their heights even relative to the chairs just screams "Photoshop". The chairs are less than two feet apart, yet the relative sizes of the people suggests a far greater distance to my eye.

However, even Snopes declares the photo to be real so it appears in this instance I am wrong and that makes me the f**cking idiot. Quite correctly so for spouting off strongly from an unfounded position.

I apologize for the transgression and, dwelling on the issue I take with the general tone of your sensationalist postings will only detract from the profoundness and sincerity of my apology.

Therefore, I repeat my apology, stand down and cheerfully accept my due chastisement from all who righteously choose to throw a few well deserved punches.

The perspective heighths of the people in the second pic look WAY off...can the woman on the far right be THAT much shorter than Obama, or even Hillary?

AND, the shadows among the four people are not the same angle...I do realize that Obama IS a bit darker that the other three people!!! lol !!!

Some of them do look out of proportion, but could it be the angle of the camera taking the picture. I see 5 chairs and 4 people but that isn't proof of anything. The only thing I wondered about when I first looked at this thread was what is holding the flag up in that last picture. I can't see anything sticking in the ground behind it.

Just seen video footage of Obama in China and he had his hand over his heart.

Could be that his trainers finally convinced him it was important.

Maybe the second picture was taken with a wide angle lense which tends to really distort angles, size, etc of objects that are at different distances from the camera. I have no idea how the flag is being held up.

I have no problem being proven wrong - it leaves me just that little bit wiser and better educated than I was before.

Having said that, the picture continues to look impossibly poorly structured to my eye. I immediately stood down yesterday on the issue when I saw that there was a video of the same scene that corroborates the still image. But - studying them both this morning shows some notable inconsistencies.

Take a look at both the picture and the video at the link below. Things to watch out for:

*The line of perspective along the tops of their heads - even allowing for height differences is way out of whack with the line drawn through any other reference points - like the tops of the chairs or the stripes on the flag, for example. Those two reference lines parallel each other quite well, incidentally.


*Look directly behind Obama's hip in the photograph. You will see the bracing behind the flag holding it up. There is grey sky showing through the lower part of the framework. You should actually be seeing the background grass in that area.

*There is a planter in the video directly in front of Hillary that should be at least partially visible in the photo if she was in the same position.

My conclusion is that the empty stage and flag background were shot and the people were pasted in separately. Their sizes and angles do not match each other and they do not match the background. Time wanted the shot and stills from the video were probably too poor, so it appears to me that they cobbled it together. Some manipulation of the background itself was done in an attempt to reconcile it to the lower angle from which the figures were shot. If it was just a wide angle lens issue, the lines would appear curved but they would still be consistent.

The video does show that Obama's hand was not over his heart during the singing of the Anthem, however, so Alien Fred is justified in making his case that the sky is indeed falling.

In my opinion, I'm 90% certain that while the incident did occur, the photo itself is a fake.

I agree with the part about the support. BTW, those are hay bales behind the stage. But, if faked, that is a huge error, one that could easily have been avoided. However, it is possible that the extra row of hay bales stopped at the flag on both sides, and I am leaning more towards that explanation. I do not understand what you are getting at with regards to the planter... please expand on that.

I too was struck by the wierd angles. I did not think about it much until you brought it up. The one thing I probably dislike more than Obama is BS propaganda about Obama. I'd rather have the truth please.

This sounds like the whakos claiming the moon landing was faked. Analyzing shadows? Funny stuff...

Yeah, this is a photo that just screamed to be faked. :cool:

Fred, don't try to confuse them with the facts.....their decisions are already made, similar to that they accuse you of.

There are two (2) rows of haybales, and the flag is erected between them, effectively hiding the support structure; looking at the corners one can observe some droop and/or overlap, indicating framework behind. Notice there is no wrinkling or excessive folding of the flag? - maybe was put up on a reasonably secure framework.

As to angles, the picture was clearly taken looking upward at the stage. If the joints in the planking on the stage are 4' - typical for a sheet of plywood or other flooring - the woman on the far right is anywhere between 8' and 10' away from the President - and with a small wide angle lens, as suggested above, would also heighten the visual effect of foreshortening and of altering, to some degree, the percieved angles of the shadows (holy crow...). Finally, the two extreme chairs (that's right and left) do not visually appear much different in size, nor do the haybales......meaning, maybe the woman on the right really is just that short. Imagine that.

And, of course, all of this TOTALLY ignores the first photo, clearly the more offensive of the two. But then, that must have been photoshopped, too.

Short (pun intended) of having actually been there, all of this is BS and speculation. I would put a smiley here too, but just cannot seem to bring myself to that.

Turnpike Boy - If you weren't so disoriented by the echos you get from shouting inside your own colon (I imagine there's not much oxygen in there either), you'd note that I said the scenario was quite real - as seen on the video, Obama did indeed fail to place his hand over his heart during the singing of the anthem.

The photo looks to have been subject to creative editing but it was likely a simple editorial job - no big conspiracy involved. I was dealing strictly with the structure of the image. If you guys are desparately seeking proof that Obama is a Muslim terrorist communist symathizer - there it is - you have it. No one is disputing that he failed to salute the anthem.

Odd isn't it that when wishes to debunk some conservative they turn to one of the urban legends sites for their "proof." Yet when they do not like the results of any of those sites, they question the sites accuracy.
Consistent with the liberal belief that one can have it both ways. However, reality says they are just twice wrong.

If you can wean yourself off your own bilge fumes for a minute - read again that I accepted the conclusions of the site the OP referenced as well as Snopes that there was indeed no salute. I have stated repeatedly that the fact the photo appears to have been edited is a separate issue unto itself and has no bearing on the established fact that the incident actually occurred.

So here - Pop your pacifier back in your mouth - Obama did not salute! You are free to conclude from this that he is a foreign terrorist if that makes you happy.
