:(

That has to rank right up there with the most asinine things he has done so far. Man, I wish one of the teleprompter operators would put the words I Resign As President up and he would read them and not even know what he had said until someone explained it to him. This country is going to be a 3rd world country in record time.

Ron :p

Any photos to go along with this story?

I'd be happy to look them over for signs of creative editing.

Seriously, though - sometimes I really wonder what the heck the democrats are thinking! Who is advising Obama on PR? Can he really be that out of touch?

every religion has it's wack-o nut cases.

Anybody remember self processed Christian Tim McVey (killed over 400 in OKC bombing) ? How about the child raping Polygamists (Warren Jeffs) out in west Texas & Utah ? Yep, Christians also.

Z. Ray

SP01715 11-18-2009 08:58 AM

McVey (sp) did not kill because of religion, he was opposed to the federal government because of other reasons. There are a lot of people that commit crimes and are religious, but how many non muslims kill because of religion? The libs always throw McVey's name out there as a comparison to muslim terrorist, but it is a false comparison.

zrayr 11-18-2009 11:59 AM

a nut is a nut. Whatever their reason for killing is, it's all the same to those who die. The point is, you can't have a blanket condemnation of all Muslims for the deeds of a few.

Not a condemnation of all Muslims, just the thousands upon thousands that are radical. To compare Christians to radical Muslims is attempting to make them a moral equivalent and that is far from reality. The Muslim world has a systemic problem with their honor killing of young girls because they date the wrong boy or stoning a women because she was raped. They place their religious identity before morality, which blinds them to the wrongs not only in the world but they own society.

What I would like to see is the Muslim community stand up and condem what the few do. Instead I see them praising them. That is why they are condemned as a group.

Muslim terrorist are not nuts, they kill because of religion. Not all muslims are terrorist, but most terrorist are muslims. They are the only religion with this widespread problem.

a devout muslim is not instructed to kill any more than devout Christians are. Most of the worlds population are Muslims, Only a small minority of them are perverting their religion to spread hatred. Is that an alarming problem ? You bet it is. Can we, and our way of life come out on top ? Of this I have no doubt.

Wrong again, Mohammad was a military leader as well as a spiritual leader that beheaded his infidel enemys. Their are at least 109 verses in the Koran that call Muslims to war with non believers. Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or be killed. Quite different from the teachings of Christ.

zrayr 11-18-2009 10:38 PM

have you read the old testament lately ? It's full of "god" instructing his believers to war. The Crusades were completely instigated by the Christians and Muslims have a long memory.
Now the " teachings of Christ." is a different story. I can really appreciate the New Testament, but that old testament is a whole different religion if you ask me. However, most Christians accept both as Gods word

The Crusades? Have you read your history lately, the Muslims came very close to taking over all of Europe, they were stopped in France, they took Syria, Palestine, and Egypt by 632,and Jerusalem in 637. Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Romania were not liberated till the 19th century. They spanned three continents at their height. Constantinople fell to them in 1453,effectively cutting off the trade route to the Far East, which led Columbus to seek new routes to the Spice Islands in 1492.
To say that Christians were aggressors is like saying that the American Indians were illegal aliens. In the English Channel the Muslims captured one of the Pilgrims returning ships circa 1625,filled with goods that were to be sold in England, they took Captain and crew to be sold as slaves. They were doing the same when Jefferson was President and we sent troops in to liberate the Americans taken as hostage. We need to pay attention to history theirs has been a bloody trail.
The marching orders of the Christian are found in the NT. Yes the OT is filled with war but we have a balance of tolerance within the entire teaching of the Bible which the Koran lacks.

Roscoe 11-19-2009 06:26 AM

They occupied Spain for 900 years; getting booted out in 1492. And they were stopped at the Gates of Vienna in 1683. We fought them in the Philippines at the beginning of the 20th Century. Hence the adoption of the Colt 45 Auto.

"To the shores of Tripoli" is not just a line in the Hymn. It was Lt. Preston O'Banion and his small contingent of U.S. Marines that took Libya. To this day Marine officers wear the Mamaluke sword awarded for this battle.

We are in a new phase of a very old war.

Wake up,
Roscoe

wrong wrong wrong. your source must be Fox news. And btw, Muslims weren't the only ones committing atrocities, The Crusaders matched them in that department. And don't get me started on slavery.

But I am not a blind defended of the Koran (or the Bible) or Muslims. Their treatment of women is especially appalling.

The Crusades is not just a word. These soldiers were dispatched to protect Christians in the Holy Land who were being killed by Mooslims.

The First Crusade was a military expedition by European Christians to regain the Holy Lands taken by the Muslim conquest of the Levant, which resulted in the capture of Jerusalem in 1099. It was launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II with the primary goal of responding to the appeal from Byzantine Emperor Alexius I. The Emperor requested that western volunteers come to their aid and repel the invading Seljuk Turks from Anatolia, modern day Turkey. An additional goal soon became the principal objective—the Christian reconquest of the sacred city of Jerusalem and the Holy Land and the freeing of the Eastern Christians from Islamic rule.

Good info in this thread regarding the crusades. It's not surprising that the liberal in this thread has the views that he does. Before I read into the subject after 9/11, all I heard was the liberal version. Muslim agression is nothing new...

Appointing a couple of Muslims to DHS makes perfect sense to me. THEY understand the thinking process, the motives, the religion of a group a people who pose a threat to America. When your dealing with a foriegn threat you need people on the front line who understand the threat.

It's just common sense...

Just like having a devout Muslim as an Army psychiatrist?

Time after time the left make sweeping accusations, condemn others positions and then gives no argument for their own. Maybe you need to go to MSNBC and get some talking points. Simply saying its wrong wrong wrong is not an argument. Yes conservatives are guilty of the same, but in my observation not as frequent.

The fact that the world was a cruel, and atrocities were committed is just obfuscating the issue. Yes both committed atrocities thats not the point.

Their treatment of women is appalling, and they don't have universal health care. The point is their history is violent,& bloody, and as Sonny and Cher sung the beat goes on. To pretend that its any other way just to be PC is a death sentence to freedom. Isn't it odd that the most free, liberated Muslims in this world live in the USA.

I have a couple of friends that are Muslim and I ask them their opinion and view point of current issues, I find that they are like most other people they want a family, a job and to live a normal life. But the fact that their is a large brutal element that hates this country and wants it destroyed. Not because of any war we have engaged in but the fact we are free, non Muslim, and support Israel.
