Now, that we are on the brink of full fledged socialism, its time to start getting familiar with terms & history.

the phrase "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" was attributed to Karl Marx though others used variants of it before him. No need to quibble about that. This is the catch phrase for us all now.

Too bad it never has worked. Humans just aren't made that way. Hope we can stop the looonnnngggg slide into socialist hell while there is still a chance. I've already apologized to everyone I know under 30. Their lives will be very different from what I have experienced. Maybe the p*ss poor education system will be a blessing in that many will never know what they missed.

And no, I don't believe were sliding into either. We have sufficient checks and balances to prevent such a decline.

Only if the Constituition were followed by all of those elected officials sworn to uphold it.
What effect will all of BO's new czars and czarettes have on our freedoms.These unelected non officials have sworn to nothing except laying the heavy hand of regulation where it is unwelcome .
There is no constitutional basis for these new positions and they can only serve to further disrupt the freedoms that the constitition does guarantee.

When the Judicial branch decided to get into the legislative business, all bets were off with checks and balances. This started with the stacking of the courts that allowed The New Deal to come into existance.

So, we really do not have the same system (in spirit) in place that our forefathers created.
