Wellll, since I started this thread, I would like to say that I am a Christian and in no want to see this turned into an anti-any-religion thread. I see the Minarette's issue as a political one. If one popped up in my neighborhood, I would protest it from a political POV. Add to it the fact that in modern day Islamic regions, such stuff would not be tolerated from Christians and Jews and you begin to get my drift. At some point, someone is going to bring up churches and their bell towers. Fair enough. But read my previous point again. Add to it the 5 times a day call to prayer and it becomes a huge problem.

Mike

The main difference between the religions is the economic conditions they reside in. If the US economy sinks to the levels of the late 70's you'll see our armed forces recruitment go up. I joined the Navy for these very reasons, to escape the crappy future my home town offered. This is in reality what many of these "recruits" are also running from. My Church was very supportive of my decision to join the military.

I don't think it's political or some concern over noise ordnances, these folks are just fed up with Muslums and would like them to get the hell out of their country.

I can't lie, I have similar feelings about the Southern Baptists... Although technically, I'm in their country.
