We end our nights out there every trip by watching the sand drags.

Well, when I was younger we did just that.

The hill was 77* angle and most of the time was 100 yards long, er up. However you want to call it.

The way they would eliminate you is all that climbed the hill all the way to the top in the first round, moved to the second round.

In the second round you had to climb 25 yards into the hill and stop... then take off and climb the hill as far as you could go.

Those that made it to the top went to round three. You guessed it, we had to go to 50 yards into the hill and stop and then take off and try to clear the hill.

The next step was 75 yards. There was only one buggy cleared the hill from here. It was sponsored by Budweiser.

I moved 4' up the hill from 75 yards and won third place. Not too shabby when I was competing against Budweiser, Miller Genuine Draft, Coors light, and that caliber of competition.

I remember it being a heck of a lot of fun!

I had a Walco Long back frame with a 190 HP Corvair Spyder engine, with four Weber's. That thing would cook!
