House Dems Offer Legal Status to Undocumented in Immigration Bill

Lawmakers pushing for immigration reform say job losses and a sluggish economy should not deter legislation legalizing illegal immigrants.

Hispanic, black, Asian and other House lawmakers backing immigration overhaul called Tuesday for legalizing illegal immigrants in the U.S., despite a weakened economy and joblessness.

The coalition of lawmakers said Tuesday immigration reform can protect American workers as well as bring into the mainstream economy productive immigrant workers who have lived in the shadows because of their illegal status.

"For those who say that given the state of our economy, given the unemployment rate, this is not the time, I would say to you there is no wrong or right time. There is a moral obligation," said Rep. Lydia Velazquez, D-N.Y., chairwoman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

I don't think this should be done. First off it is just an attempt to buy votes. And to reward those who are breaking the law is asinine. On top of that once they are all legal, watch the applications for welfare and unemployment go out of sight.

Obama made the statement a while back that no illegal immigrants would get health care . I made the post that it would be because he and the Democrats would make them legal and therefore , no illegals would be covered . Unfortunately , looks like I was right .
This can still be stopped if we all become a real pain it the a$$ to the pols in DC !

There IS a Black caucus, and a Hispanic caucus, and I don't know if there is an Asian caucus or not, but there probably is.
My question is, Who is on the White caucus???

The very existance of a "White Caucus" would be called racist (like having a channel called White Entertainment TV (WET)).

Notice the last name of that dem from NY? Of course you did.

No, legalizing them is the wrong thing to do. Reagan did it, and the flood tripled. It would triple again.

Anybody hear that story where the border agents are now bussing captured alliens to a crossing in Texas (about 100 a day)? Apparently it is keeping them from recrossing. Lousy place, no where to blend in.
