The news has been playing it up, but I can not help but think that these nut cases have a distorted view of Detroit.

An attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight that happened to be bound for Detroit is being spun into becoming a Nigerian attack on Detroit? I thought it was a Muslim terrorist attack against America. The real irony is how eager and quick some people are to divide instead of unite whenever a suitable "opportunity" presents itself.
What was the wingnut headline after the Richard Reid shoe bomber incident - "The British attack Miami"? :LOL: |

You know this guy's neighbors are NOT going to be happy about this. I'm pretty sure this is going to have a negative impact on the income flow from Nigerian email scams. In that regard, Detroit and the rest of the nation have been "under Nigerian scam attack" for sometime now. |
Speaking of banking, the terrorist's father is a banker in Nigeria. And for this is worth, his father warned the US Embassy in Nigeria about his son last Nov. They did have him on a terrorist list, but didn't see any reason to void his visa or prevent him from flying to the US.
But on a happier note: When Janet Napolitano was interviewed on CNN, the most interesting statement she made was: "What we are focused on is making sure that the air environment remains safe, that people are confident when they travel. And one thing I’d like to point out is that the system worked." Did someone say delusional?:JEKYLHYDE |

I think it was MEANT to be a bomb though? I wonder if it just failed to explode and burned rapidly instead. The main ingredient is in fact an explosive.

Hey! Let it never be said that I do not appreciate ethnic humor. I DO! I am of Italian WOP and Irish Tater lovin' heritage. I hate political correctness. But, yet, you just can't escape the "incendiary" nature of the thread title (and content). Detroit has a large percentage black to white ratio. Remove & add a few vowels and consonants and the afformentioned title makes blatant, if not so inocuous sense.

And I have had nail clippers and shampoo bottles confiscated. Yet this a-hole gets on a plane with PETN. I say its time to reevaluate racial profiling (or better yet, ethnic profiling).
