Absolutely disgusting...

Go ahead and google "Rush Limbaugh dead" and see what pops up. Liberals (at least a bunch of them) can be so disgusting. Whether its creating a rally at a funeral, or wishing ill will on one of their "enemies", they most certainly have this market cornered.

Mike

Excaliber 12-31-2009 02:57 PM

...just a few of the whacko's, not all of "us". :)

Good point though, we should wish no ill will on any man.

Silverback51 12-31-2009 03:23 PM

Extremist of any view only cast a bad shadow over all the rest.

Excaliber 12-31-2009 03:44 PM

Well that's why 99% of the politicians give the rest a bad name... :)

And that is why the other one quit and left Washington.

Ron

Tommy 01-01-2010 07:55 AM

I will confess that over the years I have wished for 1) my team to win and the opponent's team to lose, 2) my candidate to win and the opponent to loose, 3) a hurricane to miss my house and hit someone else instead, and 4) for that one particular jerk to die sooner rather than later. In none of these cases did I have any expectation that my wish was more likely to come true just because I wished it. I don't see what the big deal is about wishing someone ill fortune, as long as you don't go out and make it come true.

bomelia 01-02-2010 01:36 AM

Good point Tommy. But to the Conservative's detriment, liberals openly wish ill well on their opponents and cry foul when anything close to bashing from the other side of the aisle occurs. And rarely do conservatives retaliate with hopes if ill will to the other side. Being good means you finish last in the short run but first in the long run.

Say what you want about Bush, but your will NEVER hear him yelling from some stage that "Obama Lied!"

Mike,
If your complaint is more about hypocrisy from all sides than wishing someone ill, then I agree.

Bill Bess 01-02-2010 06:47 AM

I wish that everytime a liberal, a conservative or a politician lies, cheats or is dishonest, and doesn't think of America first, .......bites their tongue before opening their stinking mouths. It would only take a couple of days before our respective tongues would be completely gone.

Damm! I just bit my tongue.

Ron61 01-02-2010 06:50 AM

Bill, did you ever see the show Liar, Liar, about the lawyer whose son made a wish that he could not tell a lie for 24 hours? That is all it would take to get rid of most of our Govt. for sure.

Ron :)

Oops - I hit the send button too soon. Cleaning up the post

Excaliber 01-02-2010 09:36 AM

...no one group or party has a lock on ill will of their fellow man.

Having said that, I won't miss Rush if something should happen to him. :)

Mike, your heart's in the right place but unfortunately the negative behaviors that you lament exist on both sides of the aisle. You see them yourself but they just don't register in the same way.

Without even looking too far, here are a few quotes from a couple of threads on Ted Kennedy's initial seizure and his subsequent death. And this is only the mild stuff from the nice folks here on CC . To you credit, you did comment on the ill will, though not as passionately as you do in this case:

Here are some of the comments that prompted your remark:

Can't wait for the "Captain of the Chappaquiddick Rescue Squad" to stroke out.

That old "fat A**" is finally getting his payback for all the crap he's done in his privileged life.

The ONLY reason that SOB didn't die is GOD does not want him either! Worthless, waste of skin!

It was around mid-afternoon,it had way earlier been determined the sorry SOB was going to live and be just fine

Time to hasten their departure from this world if you ask me.

I've Mother F***ed him for 30 + years. And he deserves every word of it.I just hope that on his slide down to hell he moves just slow enough for Mary Jo to kick him square in the nuts.

Perhaps just pouring salt on that "Slug" will make him just go away in a mass of foam.

Ted Kennedy has passed away.
So what ?? 1 less scum sucking murdering a-hole.

Actually, he is a: LIBERAL scum sucking murdering a-hole.

So the " Hero of Chappaquiddick " has gone to his rewards .

etc, etc, etc.

I could post just as many mean spirtited quotes directed at Bush, Obama, Cheney, the Clintons and Jimmy Carter. The point is both "sides" do it, and trying to establish otherwise is just plain wrong.

I didn't put these up to agree or disagree with the sentiments expressed, or to criticise the original posters; but only to show that the same crap goes on in both camps and a set of political beliefs or opinions does not make one person any more or less a moral, ethical human being than the other.

Disagreement on issues is inevitable, but the drive to dehumanize and paint the other side as evil, immoral and unethical is just a side effect of the two major party political system that has people playing into the hands of vote-hungry politicians by reducing analysis of their political worthiness to a tribal "us vs. them" orgy of emotional dogmatism.

The ugly, unpalatable truth is that the people who have been conditioned to despise each other because of political loyalties just ain't all that different from one another at all.:)

That's actually a bi-partisan out look. :)

Mike,
What a load of hypocritical BS. Are you talking about the same drug addict Limbaugh that called Jerry Garcia 'just another dead doper'?

Buzz summed it up nicely, and he did it in a much kinder fashion than I would have.

Steve

BeanCounter 01-06-2010 09:01 AM

Oh my God, Jerry Garcia isn't really dead?????

Why, would that alter your concert attendance schedule?

Excaliber 01-06-2010 01:38 PM

:) I heard him and Elvis were planning a gig, guess that's off now.
