Overused Words & Phrases
This is just a small sample of the list as it was on my rotating news module and by the time I post the link it will be gone. I guess I could have gone to the source and got it but I didn't.
Tops on the Michigan university's list of useless phrases was "shovel-ready." The term refers to infrastructure projects that are ready to break ground and was popularly used to describe road, bridge and other construction projects fueled by stimulus funds from the Obama administration. And speaking of stimulus, that word -- which was applied to government spending aimed at boosting the economy -- made the over-used category as well, along with an odd assortment of Obama-related constructions such as Obamacare and Obamanomics. "We say Obamanough already," the LSSU committee said. Ok here is the link if anyone wants to read the whole article. http://www.classicmoparforum.com/whi...ned-word-list/ Ron :) |
Annoying phrase
My son ends just about every sentence with "you know what I mean",and it annoys the heck out of me you know what I mean.
Cheers, Bryan |
Good one Bryan. Around here it seems a lot of people end every statement with "You Know." Ron :) |
"Absolutely"

How about a football player/coach when refering to the game/team insists on saying. "That was a great foot ball play". Did we think it was checkers.
The same applies to golf commentators refering to every drive/chip as a "great golf shot." Duh! Nice to see you are still above ground Ron. I have been doing other things, but still have the Cobra. Am living on my boat now in Friday Harbor and the car now lives in a hanger with a Citabria which is almost as much fun. Cheers, Bish |
Awesome ..............
|
:)
Bish, Nice to hear from you. I had wondered what happened to you. Glad that you still have the Cobra. I really miss mine. The Citabria sounds as if it is a fun plane to fly also. Keep in touch. Ron :) |

I noticed the other day while waching a football game on TV, Jim Nance used the term "Well played". I guess golf terms work for football. Maybe when taliking about Tiger's life stile you could say "Well played. dude"
Har !!!!!!! |
Bill,
Another overused term in college football I think is the best player in college. I watched 4 college games one weekend and each one had the best player in college football in them. As for Tiger's lifestyle, I think once this is over he will fade from the limelight. To bad as I was hoping he would break those records, but he made a mess of things for sure. Ron :) |
Another overused term you hear comes from NASCAR.........
Jimmy Johnson is our leader.........YUK |

Bob, I think that is a NASCAR rule now that when he is leading a race they have to keep saying it. Besides they don't show enough of the racing to know who is leading as the announcers hog all of the air time left after the commercials. Ron ;) |
This one drives me crazy......
"Not so much"
|
I find it assolutely awesome how often some people use the word "awesome", if you know what I mean.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
