Global Warming. Really?
The last time it snowed (and stuck around for days) was when my first son was 1 year old. Today, he is 10+. I have been living on a pond for about 7 years. Today, for the first time since I have lived here, the pond was froze over. My kids begged me to let them goof off on it. So I took a drill out there and measured the ice thickness. 3+ inches so far. At least 2 more days of single digit temps in front of us. My guess is the ice will get 2-3more inches thick. Like I said before, its a normal cycle. BTW, I live in Alabama.
The climate "crisis" is a hoax. Mike |
Be careful on that ice, watch for thin areas.

Mike, Maybe Mr. Gore will come over and help you measure the ice thickness and temp. to really decide if the frozen ice is the same temp. as ice in the old days prior to climate warming.
Who would have known? Bill...be safe! |
I have seen time lapse video of the flow of glaciers heading toward the ocean. I think the seasonal temperature of the air around us and the core temperature of the glaciers are two different things. The flows have certainly "picked up" over the past twenty years. It's undeniable.
I think the message that we all miss is that we should all try to respect the planet that we live on a little more. We should all adopt that thought process. The evolution of the plant is going to do what it wants to do regardless of what we do to it. |
Glaciers come and glaciers go. They have been doing that for millions of years. What is lost on most folks (who are science ignorant) is that the time scale of our "understanding" is only several hundred years. We do not even have the foggiest idea about what is going on. However, folks have been using this "crisis" to their political and fincancial benefit. It is interesting that is has been about 10 years since the last time it got this cold here. Seems that solar cycles are on 11 year cycles as I recall.
The sun was out for most of the day, so I did not let them near it. But, it never got above 15 degrees F. I am going to drill holes tomorrow to see how thick it is (near the edge). Mike |

Does that mean you are going to a single 4 :LOL: Craig |

Glaciergate? IPCC Claims That Himalayan Glaciers Will Disappear By 2035 Are Melting Away
http://blogs.the-american-interest.c...ciergate-ipcc/ |
I don't doubt that the Earth is just starting ANOTHER warming cycle. I just question the fact that we have caused it. There have been warming cycles and ice ages all throughout the history of the planet. I even saw where they think Mars is going to warm up some. Darn Hot Rodders going there to race and mess up the climate. http://www.hazelnet.org/icon/cars/oldtimer1.gif

Here is the original story.

I heard an interview today with some "budding" young climate scientists who admitted that the Hadley CRU emails did indeed do damage to the climate study community. There is a danger now that mainstream folks will now doubt climate change.
>Really? What makes him think that? Also, he said that there still is the glacier data and the proprietary data sets and when you combine that with the "model data" (simulations) there is plenty of evidence to suggest that the Earth is warming. >When will "scientists" STOP calling "model data" data?? Simulation output or predictions are based on input data. If the input data are flawed, and even more so, if the models themselves are flawed, then the output is flawed. >Again, nobody is seriously arguing that there are not climatic changes afoot. There have always been changes and there will always be changes. Hadley CRU massaged (romanced) their temperature curves to look as though changes in them correlated in time with the Industrial Age. Shame on them. |
You know, somehow I picture this guy tossing theories around, mussing about the possibilties and someone takes the "office talk" out of context and the next thing you know the headlines are: "Himalayas in a Meltdown". :)

The earth started warming up 400 years ago. This is a recorded fact in science. So no matter what we do it wont start getting colder and staying colder until its ready to do so, we can not stop earth driven events any more than you can stop a Volcano from spitting out the earths core .With so called Global Warming will come extreme weather events very dry very wet very hot very cold.We are just specks of dust on this planetand can be wiped out at mother natures will.

The liberals will just use the term climate change instead of global warming, but still blame humans so they can pass more laws in an attempt to conrol us. The whole game is about control and money.

Control of emmissions is something we already do, the meanies have "control" over us! Call it Global warming or climate change fact is we DO have an emmissions problem, smog if you would. We need reasonable "controls" to reduce it, clean it up, make the air better and if that somehow helps "climate change", well OK, couldn't hurt. |
In the Northwest we hear: "Earth first, we will log the other planets later".
|
I chuckle everytime I see that, I picture Captn Picard on an "away mission", chain saw in hand... :)

Use a problem (real or not) to increase government regulations in an attempt to control the problem, and tax people more, and you have more government control over the people. Look at the EPA as an example.
