It is snowing like crazy here in Alabama (North). What is funny to me is that the Global Warming kooks are very quiet tight now... cannot draw them out for a fight. We are expecting another four inches.

Mike,
Maybe you should invite Al Gore down to cool off.

Have to offer congrats to Dallas, Tx. as they have had more snow this year than N.E.Mich, we've only had about 11 inches the whole winter.

Well it has been above freezing here in Dallas since the record snowfall last week, so it is all but gone. Pretty much the only thing left is the lumps that used to be snowmen. 12.5 inches last Thursday was the most since 1978.

Alaska report
Amazing!
Here in Anchorage, February is usually very cold, often it gets down to -20f for a week or so. Instead, we have very warm weather, like yesterday with +36 in the shade, but in the sun the temps are mid 40's. T-shirt weather. I only put on a long sleeve shirt when working in the shade. Bizarre weather. I'm not complaining mind you.

Normally January and most of February are really cold here in Quebec but that has not been the case this year. We only had 2 or 3 days of real cold weather and we have had very little snow so far. Most of the snow that we had has now disappeared as the sun is getting stronger each day as we move towards spring.
I was in Miami Beach for a few days and it was quite cool there and we had an unbelievable rain storm Friday evening.

We still have the same snow we got on Christmas day and it has only gotten in the 40's for a couple of days and not much warmer than the low 20's since and the wind is what really makes it bad.

The last three posts sure give a truthful ring to Climate Change, where some parts of the country have colder weather, and other parts have warmer weather.
So, who are the "kooks" now?

I have been told by the old timers that this is how it was 40 and 50 years ago around here.........its been in the last 30 or so that the snow fall has been much less than normal........they have been getting inches as in years past they measured it in feet...
i'm sure man has played a roll in the decline of the climate but i dont think we are the cause of it........Mother Nature is and will always be the one to determin how things warm up or cool off.........

I was driving through farm land near here yesterday and there is virtually no snow left in the fields. This is a very strange winter. Above average temperatures and way below average amount of snow. One major disadvantage to low snow fall is that there will be little spring run off resulting in lower water levels behind the hydro dams.

St. Lucia report: Conditions are generally breezy and pleasantly cool (relatively speaking of course) but we have had very little rainfall and are actually experiencing our worst drought in 30 years. Water rationing is in effect with different areas being shut off at various times. Thank heaven that I have a large cistern under the floor and two elevated auxiliary tanks. I'll know it's gotten really bad when we have to start drawing water from the cee-ment pond.

I used to wish I could be one of Ellie Mae's critters myself!
Bob - now that's a chilling thought!
