New iPhone 4
Anybody else pick up the new iPhone 4 today ?
Picked mine up at 9:45 am at Best Buy.Had to wait maybe 5 minutes.
Watching the News a lot of people were in lines for many hours. 
I got the 3G two years ago.The 4 is one amazing "phone".
Been checking it out all afternnoon and could not be more pleased.

I notice that the old 3GS phone are selling for about $250 on Ebay and Craigslist......as the new phone will cost me $199 it seems like a no brainer?
I should buy two and sell the other iPhone4 for the seeming going price of $5- 600!

The ones on CL and Ebay, etc, are without a contract. Not a bad deal if you lose yours and do not have insurance. ATT will rip you a new one if you have to buy them at the non-discounted price (its high, but I cannot remember what). Its a no brainer if you do not have an existing contract only.
My 3G iphone is maybe 5 months old? Theoretically, I have to wait 1.5 more years to get the 4G which by then will be a 6G, and it will still cost $199. It pisses me off that I cannot walk in and exchange for a newer phone. I would not mind paying the $199... but Nooooooo, its gonna be $600...

Why in the world did you buy a 2 year old 3G model ?
Or did you mean the 3GS ?
I'm using my replaced 3G as a iTouch plus (does more). |

IPhone 4 is not 4G. It is 3G just like the last 2. It is primarily an OS upgrade, with a few minor HW "upgrades" (like the shorting out of the antenna by touching the phone) as well. I am just not a fan of the IPhone. When it came out, no question it was the best for apps, but I just don't like the way things are put together on it. I prefer the Android platform. Both have their pluses and Minuses, and it all comes down to user preference.

I canceled my 3G iPhone a few months ago. It was great except for making phone calls.

I'm gonna wait for the Ipad 4G/Iphone 4G combo, with a medium drink.
I hate it when I'm happy (old 3G) and they tempt me like this. Basturds.

I upgraded my 3gs to the new 4 OS software and it has some nice features, especially in how it handles multiple emails on the same conversation thread. AT&T service still SUCKSSSS though.

Me too. It was rumored for last January but it looks like it's going to be a long wait. Verizion is coupled with all the others - Blackberry, Droid, etc - and no longer seems to be motivated to get the iPhone. I won't switch from Verizon. I have a BB Storm2 that works OK. |

I keep my iPhone 3G on the Edge network so it won't drop calls, if it's on 3G, it drops them regularly. Then, if I'm going to surf, I move to 3G. PITA! ATT sucks and I've been with them a long time.
Looking at other phones from Verizon.
