Does this forum needs a boost!

Is it me or are the threads on this site becoming mundane?
What happened to all the fresh informative posts? I can only read about Magnesium wheels and Kirkham parts for sale (no offence David), for so long. Let's see some builds, new parts, fabrication and more event coverage......

Wintertime seems to slow things down.

It seems that some of the posts will gather tons of responses, while others seem to get ignored. I think it all has to do with the subject matter.

I've often wondered how often people check in here. If I could figure out how to do a poll , I would. I know that I have answered a couple of things on here that never got repiles from the original poster.

When I was looking for my Cobra, Ray Humble posted up about selling a Contemporary for a friends wife. I tried to contact him several times and he never replied so ended up with another Contemporary from another guy. I haven't seen him too active since I bought it, so I figure he was just here to ask a few questions, put the car up for sale and bail out.

So, it seems that when something of interest pops up , everybody runs with it.

You're right. Next step...a magnesium Kirkham.

Darren, aren't you the person who's building a new Kirkham with a fully polished Cammer in it? Uh, that could make a good thread. ;) :)

rustyBob 12-14-2010 10:32 AM

I could post some pics. of my next Rat Rod build but i didnt think this was the proper place to do that....

Snuggly Wuggly

See? Here she is all snuggled away for the winter. Just like a bug in a rug, with visions of sugar plums dancing in her head. :)

We could always start a tread about "REAL" vs Replica. That always seems to get lots of responses. Or maybe two roll bars vs one or none. Or how about the merits of Carol's business model. Be careful what you are wishing for, sometimes mundane is OK

Well, in that case, since you asked for another cool pic of my car, here's one with the top up and side curtains on.:p

Patrick it's an OK picture (its an ERA) but I can't see your dual roll bars. Why are you hiding them?

This picture highlights the custom made top and side curtains.

lamaluv 12-14-2010 11:33 AM

I'm still thinking there must be a problem! You have removed them, painted them black, bent one or both. Come clean Patrick, what are you hiding? First the blue tarp then the top & side curtains.%/

That is not a "blue tarp." That is a hermetically sealed custom fitted "car bag," complete with desiccant, that keeps her pristine and dry during her hiatus. This year I tried hooking my shop vacuum up to the bag to see if I could really make it a "vacuum seal." It didn't work.%/

RodKnock 12-14-2010 11:46 AM

I guess blowing hot air into the bag, a resource that you have an abundance of, wouldn't work so well.

lamaluv 12-14-2010 11:57 AM

OK, OK, this tread is starting to get "mundane" so I'm off to take my afternoon nap.

If Michael Jackson were still alive, he might have shown an interest. But in his absence all the rest of us can only point and laugh rudely. ;)
