Old motorcycles.

This was a cool school to go to. I was hounding Wes Cooley at Memphis Motorsports Park pretty good. He was trying so hard to look cool and stay in front of me that he crashed!

The ninja is awesome, when i was a kid i wanted that bike so bad, then i grew up and bought a cobra. Cool pics.

This little screamer made 67 rear wheel horsepower. I placed top three in every regional race I ran it in. It was leading the GNF at Road Atlanta when the cam chain tensioner shoe broke. I still finished fourth!

I always like the high winding engines of the japanese bikes, I compare them to a high winding small block, a harley would be more like a big block.

How about a 1953 Indian Chief 80" flathead on a 1937 Indian rigid frame and 37 leaf spring springer front fork. Not the hand shift.

Don't make me cry!...........I was offered a Indian Chief for free when I was 18 (too many years ago). It was complete but in bits. All I had to do was assemble it. There was also a box with enough parts to 3/4 assemble a second bike. I foolishly declined the offer. 2 years later I asked if it was still available. No, he said it was thrown out into the rubbish tip!

1985 Harley Low Glide. Right after the new Evo engine came out. I lowered the suspension and chromed it all. I was seduced by the quarter mile ET. My first one was also a Honda 350. Then a Triumph 1959 650, then the 48 Panhead and then the Indian 80" Flathead.

One of these was my first motorcycle. It had been hot-rodded with a high compression head, a "competition" rotary valve, and a very loud Bassani expansion chamber exhaust. It would do right at 55MPH at the top of fourth gear.

It had a 100-tooth rear sprocket, so it was fairly quick, but it would bog if you let the revs down (no reed valves). The no-name aftermarket expansion chamber exhaust was also exceptionally loud with the silencer removed. Ours (I have 2 brothers) was an HT-1B motocross version and was never fitted with lights or steel fenders. I actually OWN three Vincents, including a 1950 Shadow that I've owned since 1980 and ridden for 30,000 miles. Also have owned three more at various times. Did you ever ride one?
The truth is they handle very well (especially for their time); they are about the only classic bike that can be ridden in today's traffic and keep up without self-destructing. This undeserved reputation was the result of beat to crap examples with worn out dampers and fork bushings. That and the fact that Shadows were the fastest production motor vehicle (not just motorcycle) in the world for several years. Try driving your cobra with worn out dampers and steering and see how safe it is ... grybrd123 |

That's it??? I figured there would be a lot more folks on here with pics of their motorcycles. I guess that either there aren't that many guys here that ride, or they don't have pictures.
