Default who lets the wife use the garage too?

I don't share the garage with my wife, but she is exceptional and understands that the garage means more to me that most things.
She parks her dented Exploerer in the Seattle rain and never complains.
A rare woman I expect.

Do you share? Is she a "car gal" ?
Do you have a separate garage for the sports cars?
Would she "take one for the team" if she couldn't share?
What's your story?

I wrote a blog about abuses of one's garage, other than sharing with your spouce of course. Just meant for a laugh

Her convertible is on one side, my ERA on the other. Winter time I can squeeze a miata in between for storage purposes only .

wife doesn't even have a key to the garage.........wife is not allowed to drive any vehicle newer than 10 years old. for example....her 1993 lincoln was getting ugly.....pealing clearcoat......i had the car repainted, took her one week to sideswipe something. she now wants a new car......my response is you will need another husband first, then he can buy you a new car. now some of you will say i'm the bastard....but my daughter, who is 10, will not let her get in the cobra's passenger seat.....she tells her mom thats her seat and she can't use it......

Sure, when I had a wife I let her in the garage to use the washer and dryer.
When she bought her new Smart car I let her park in the garage. Now she parks it in HER garage.

Yea, I'm an A$$.

it sounds like your wife was capable of negotiating her way around a washer and dryer.......if i let my wife touch my clothes, i would either look like i'm homeless from wearing F'ed up clothing or i'd have to go naked. my wife needs a wife.....i'm still wondering what i'm getting out of this marriage deal.
there is certainly something to say for an "alternative lifestyle" if you know what i mean......but i'm not bitter.............much.

Sounds like I need a second blog, more focused on this "sharing" subject.

Wife's Lacrosse is where my truck used to live, as my ERA is on her side, which is 1-1/2 spaces wide. More room during the build for all the "stuff" I needed to put it together. Family kindly bought me a remote start for my truck for Christmas and thanks to the "bailout", which screwed the suppliers, my starter was due in May 1st. Haven't got it yet. oh well.

The garage is definitely open to my wife, but it is not like she cares to spend tons of time in there. Heck, she'll be able to use the KMP when I'm away on trips

When the economy turned south three years ago, I sold my nearly new Cadillac and moved my office to the house. My wife, being the excellent sport that she is, suggested that I drive her 2007 SUV, and SHE volunteered to drive the old '91 truck to work everyday, "because it will just sit there in the parking lot at work all day", she said. She's a keeper. So, yea, she still gets a spot in my... sorry... OUR garage.

I have a 1000 sqft garage with my 2500 HD, Rubicon and Rhino in (as well as alot of tools). This is my working gargage, and I move the vehicles as needed. I also have a four car garage with the Cobra, Caddy, Harley and a few gun safes. My wife rarely goes into the garges, and the only time she does is usually to put something in there that she bought for me. The only garage she gets to use is the one at our house in Arizona (it's empty most of the time).

I have to share the garage with the wife's BMW 325I. So far so good with no dents in the Cobra door after 4 years! She thinks more of the BMW than I do of the Cobra I think and doesn't want me denting her door

Now this seems like a fair question regarding your "wife's rights in your garage".
My wife has complete control of all things inside the house.
I have complete control of all things and activities inside my garage.

With that said, I permit my wife to park her car inside the garage, but only in a selected space, a space that may be changed if and when I feel the need.
Actually I like her car inside because I also wash it on a regular scheduled basis designated by my wife, which falls under her "inside the house rules".
On the other hand, I have the right to postpone the scheduled washings due to more imortant garage duties, designated by me, under the "garage rules agreement".
More important garage duties might be, ie. working on the cobra, drinking beer, reading hot rod magizines and bench racing wiht my friends.

We have a great understanding and comply with this agreement ( at least it's worked for 47 years).

Oh, the covered car port with the 2500HD is mine too!!

After years of body work, painting, assembly of various cars I have always maintained for the most part a spot for my wifes car. When things get to a point I really need more room I kick her out for a week or two. She actually said once that shet thought "I loved my Cobra more than I love Her" (god I hate when shes right!)
Why is it that some gals get it and others do not? I would buy her her own Cobra if she wanted one. I was once at a car show and a couple showed up with His & Her Corvettes. She loved her Corvette as much as he did his. True story... In front of all to see I got down on my knees and told /asked her that if she ever left her husband, would she marry me? Bonus... She was good looking too!

Contrary to popular belief, I am not a young person.

So, for 31 years of marriage, she has as much of the garage as I do.

If you are not married, then you can have it all, but for anyone that is really married ( not hanging in there ), you have about 2% say in most if what goes on with, "Is that okay with you?" Attached.

This is one of those questions that is like, "Honey, does this dress make me look fat?" Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

It would be extra bad if your wife reads the same forums you do...
