Alright guys.....thanks for letting me vent. Starting up a new business isn't exactly easy, especially with all the competition, both local, and internet. Sacrificing integrity to get a leg up just doesn't sound kosher though.
Headed to bed. Y'all be good.

In the car hobby/engine building world, a lot of them aren't really sacrificing integrity since they didn't have any to start with.

Be very glad you followed your instincts - that job would have been nothing
but trouble for you. The tear down/inspection $$ flat fee might be a good
shop charge to use at your discretion - at least you won't be wasting your time.

Good choice. You know what they say about reputations.... "hard to build, easy to lose".
Another problem with difficult customers is that while you are trying to make them happy, they are taking your time away from your good customers.

I have had a horrible couple of months and was really starting to feel sorry for my self. I was reminded of a similar day when I was visiting a hospital for work and a mother came out crying with her child wearing a surgical mask, obviously just finished some sort of cancer treatment. Suddenly life was not so terrible after all. Keep it in perspective Brent, being able to live with your consious is worth a great deal, you will will be rewarded with good karma.

Mark, that was a good post. We do tend to get all wrapped up in ourselves from time to time. There's always someone out there that has it worse than us.
Good post.
