Default Beauty and the BEAST

I think most of you can tell which is which.

Just got the C5 home about an hour ago. Drove it close to 200 miles to get home and I love it. It's a 2002 with 12,460 miles on it when I picked it up. I think I found 3 very small rock chips in the front end, other than that it's perfect.

Only complaint I have is it's to damn quiet. There is no engine or exhaust sound to drive by. Going to have to cure that here shortly.

And thanks again to everyone that replied to my original thread regarding buying a C5. Your input was greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up You are going to love it...

200 miles in the Beauty is a walk in the park...500 miles is a breeze...and you can go 800 in the right conditions... they are world class GT cars... the noise you did hear was the radio... a Bose...but we all know who is the bully in the garage....happy trails...bart

John,

Great pictures again. They make a very nice couple. Wonder what the off spring will be. Maybe a Bugatti Verizon.

Nice pictures John ! They do make a nice pair.

12k miles for a 2002,sounds like it's new. Sure looks new inside from the photos.

Were you able to get it for around the $20k range ? What engine is in it ?

It's the 350 HP LS1. Got it for $22,555.00. Did some searchs on Autotrader and it was a good deal based on what else I found out there.

It's as comfortable as my wife's Infiniti QX56, which is very comfortable. I'm really looking forward to doing a longer trip in it just to see how well I hold up in it.

Way to go John! It will be interesting to hear how your opinions about which set of wheels to drive over the next year. No more trips to Reno in the Cobra? Beautiful cars!

Hi John,
your new C5 looks fabulous, and I'll bet you love driving it.

But what I need to know is, what colour is your Cobra? I am still pondering over possible colours for mine, and whilst I like yellow, I had never really seen a yellow cobra I liked until I saw yours! It looks great.

Do you have the name of that colour?

Thanks

Best (or worst) thing is when you're trying decide which one to take out for the day...and then you end up coming home at lunch and switching.

I may have to get another Vette...I miss it.

Well in that case you got #2 of the seven deadly sins knocked out.

Well Ward, the decision as to which car to drive will be easy. If it's nice, it's the Cobra hands down. Even for another trip to Lake Tahoe.

Wish I could help you Tim, but I do not have any idea as to the color code. I took the information that SPF supplied to a paint place and they had no idea what it meant.

For touch up paint I finally took it to another place that used an analizer on it and got it close. They then tinted it to get it right.

If you are really serious about the color, I could put a small amount in a jar and send it to you. That's about the best I can do.

Assolutely...like minds and all that.

John...the entrance to Kings River Canyon is about 7-8 miles down the road. Nice curvy stretch along the river to a turnaround before the dam. Lot's of fun taking them back to back on the same road...really shows the differences...I miss that.

I envy you...have a blast!

Thx for the offer John, but I could not ask you to send it to Australia. Actually these days, you are prolly not even allowed to post paint I guess??

Anyways, I do like your colour - I will just go of the photos here and see what I can find in the paint books.

Thx again
