Well, I ran out of gallery space, probably a couple of years ago. Hmm...

1ntCobra 12-15-2011 10:52 AM

And I see they have removed the old contributor trophies and stars...

Could we please have some introduction by the moderators/forum owners behind the motivation for the new fees? I'd heard a while ago that we could volunteer some funds and this is the first I've seen it public, but honestly, that's quite pricey. I'd bet you'd get a lot more participation if you dropped it to $10 or $25 per year.

1ntCobra 12-15-2011 12:31 PM

I agree that the prices seem high.

My SAAC membership is probably around $50 per year, plus a little more to belong to the Lehigh Valley Region. I get an annual magazine, plus attend some of the local region meeting as well as members only access to the SAAC website.

The Silver Level here is $100 per year. I would expect it to be less than I pay to SAAC.

Like Tony, I think you will get more contributors if you lower the price.

I think the recurring charges will probably reduce the number of contributors as well.

1ntCobra 12-15-2011 12:35 PM

Or maybe the site could offer more features to contributors for the price.

Like the ability to edit Jamo's postings. Re-open closed threads. :JEKYLHYDE  ;)

On a serious note.
The Premier & Gold Star Level has a large avatar as part of the package.

Just how big would my avatar's bouncing boobs be at those levels ?

Thanks

fordracing65 12-15-2011 04:16 PM

Please ask for the premium package for Christmas, I need to see those in big block mode.

Too big to have a topic open in an office/work environment.

So, if you paid for a bigger avatar - your avatar would that be the same as paying for sex?

tcrist 12-23-2011 11:59 AM

We have had fundraisers here for CC before. It was/has been generated by members trying to help out. Has the sight gotten so big that it might start charging a membership fee?

This is a great site. I have donated in the past and will in the future. Dont know how many members are here but I would almost bet that if everybody dontate $1 each Brent would have enough to run on. I would bet that Brent had no idea how big this would be when he started this and his other sites.

For some reason, the word Netflix keeps coming to mind.

Tony,I think they listened to you.

There are now many levels from $30 - $500 with non recurring charges.

tcrist 12-28-2011 04:58 PM

Might even get more if the site can stay up for at least a week without having access issues.

The odd thing is - for Gold Star - one can elect to pay from $30 to $125 for a one year period with the same exact 'benefits' - Hmmmmmmm....

That is a nice range to get a Gold Star.

What I get from it is that all amounts are needed and are appreciated.
