ive just become curious about the chassis transmission tunnels and whats going on between my butt and the drivetrain.
unique and era look like ladder frames, and the fiberglass shell just rests pretty close to those moving parts.
any input would be nice.
pictures are even better of what may be in store. despite that there are alot of build sites, it can be hard to find what your looking for.

ERA cars have fiberglass footboxes that are on either side of the transmission and bellhousing - like the originals. The top plate between the footboxes (under the dash) and the transmission tunnel are aluminum plate. The floor and bulkhead behind the seats are all aluminum plate. The transmission sits above the frame and comes out from the top side. ERA provides a driveshat loop for safety. There is no doubt, a lot of whirling drivetrain runnig along side your butt, legs and feet. Running an SFI certified bell housing is definately a good idea. I guess there has probably been some instances somewhere, but transmissions and differentials seldom grenade like a clutch and flywheel can do.
