We could not come to terms on a lease renewal, I'll leave it at that.
Most properties are either not zoned correctly, or the ceiling heights are not high enough for the required paint booth clearances. I've got my eye on something between here and KOP that I can convert over to a MAACO. Inroads have been made, but nothing solid has come about so far. Hence the absolute auction on November 3rd. Better to clean it all out and not have to pay for storage than to continue to shovel money into what could eventually be a bottomless pit.

I see. It's my understanding that it's really all about the 'paint booth' in that business. Regulations, etc. Good luck in finding a new location.

Just curious - so, you lost your lease - normally one would move all their stuff out to storage, whatever, why is all your stuff being sold at auction, probably for next to nothing?

Easier to sell it off now then to disassemble it and have to pay $2,000 a month to store it. Then even more difficult to sell it once it is in storage. Shop I am attempting to buy out of probate (wife, ex wife, grown kids on both sides and no will spells one large headache) has newer equipment already within. If I had a barn, or a larger piece of property, I'd buy a 40 foot container and store it. Since I do not, I'm rolling the dice and selling off what I have on my hands.

I'm sorry to hear this, Bill. I hope you can find another facility. Best of luck. And if I can do anything to help, let me know.

I think you have a few friends with big enough properties to hold a container for you...
Although in my case, I suspect that deed restrictions would not allow me to do that.

I hope you did well with your auction. Hopefully you will be back in business soon.
