Dish Network and Speed

Is anybody else ticked that Dish Network has chopped the Speed channel? It has been replaced with Fox Sports so instead of car shows I get to see woman's wrestling or whatever. I have complained to Dish Network but with no positive results. I think that I am going to switch to cable. Wayne

Wayne, pretty sure I read that Speed network is no more and has been replaced by Fox Sports. Been gone from my Direct TV for several weeks.

So did Direct TV, it's a bunch of CRAP...

Fox sports 1 is in fact the speed channel renamed and reformatted!! Don't blame the dish companies or cable it is all fox's doing and in my opinion (lousy).

They did the same here and a friend of mine who has cable said he has to pay extra to get the Speed Channel. But all it had turned into here was a NASCAR site anyway so I don't miss it much.

392, I see that your avatar is still working.

I did a Google search and from what I could gather, Fox figured that they could make more money by re-branding Speed and then not concentrating on racing or cars. This really sucks even if Speed spent most of it's time talking about NASCAR. You all know how it used to go, "Danica prefers to have her seat set this way but Jr. has always had his seat set another way, bla, bla, bla" for the next 2 hours before they changed the subject and went on to red cars versus blue cars. Once in a while they would actually refer to a race. I did like the Saturday morning car shows, especially in the middle of the winter.

I am going to watch the local TV guide and figure out which channels I need so that I can still get F1 and NASCAR races (not all the talk), as well as some of the car shows like Gearz, Hot Rod TV, etc. I have been looking at the price of cable and I think that I can get everything I have on Dish Network plus a few more channels, all at a better price. If this is true, I will be telling Dish Network where to go. Thanks for the input, guys.
