What happened to the old banter in the lounge?
Am I just wishing for something that moved on to something else?
|
We are discussing watches, knives, and pens. But it is well hidden in an otherwise useless sticky in ALL COBRA TALK.
|
Some still post in the Chat thread but for the most part the ones that did most of the joking around have left the site.

Some people have a hard time separating good natured bantering and discussions with hate spewing and mockery.
Fortunately, when the forum moderators clamped down on those spewing the hatred and other forms of not-so-pleasant talk, they left. |

It's too bad since we once had fun here. I noticed an ad for donations to something that happened four months ago. |

"The Lounge" is dead because there is no reason for it any more. You want to banter, just post it in the main "All Talk" forum, that, and with threads like THIS who needs the lounge. Bill S. |
Bill, That thread has been entertaining at least and has covered about everything but Replica members. Ron  Quote:

Bill,
I saw that thread earlier and wondered why he would try that on here with so many knowledgeable members. A vin tag alone won't work for any car in this state and his whole post just sounded kind of phony to me. Ron |

I hope all is well with you. The SVTP Cobra R forum is also sort of dead. Some say Facebook killed the message board star (remember the song? 'Video killed the radio star'...). BTW, my 1965 Mustang is FS ($26K). I'm getting too old to do all of the work. Doc |

I have the space, but not the funds right now, or I'd buy the 65 road race coupe from you. I'll pass the word and see if any of the "Club Cranky" gang is looking for a well sorted, turn key racer. Only 140 miles from your place now..... Maybe swing down for a bagel and some good coffee one Saturday or Sunday. Bill S. |

I think that it is priced correctly since I have receipts for ~$75K. The car is going to be in the ads in the next issue of Vintage Motorsport magazine. My Plan B is to race it next year at the Mitty and HSR Watkins Glen in June. I'd pay someone to help me if you know any Club Cranky dude that would like to help. We were at Watkins Glen a few years ago at the same time. You were judging, and I was racing. It was hard to get two schedules together. One of my best memories of previous ClubCobra events was the non-race event at Roebling Rd (Savannah, GA). It was someone's birthday who invited us. We ended up having a non-race race (not my quote). :D I am good for coffee anytime. DJ |

Would be surprised if it was not sold over the winter. If it does, do you have the 95R ready for the track I know you sold the other one..... Mitty might be doable for me, WGI is a bit tougher for a day trip  No more judging for me, I like being under the radar down here :D |

BTW, the 1995 Cobra will remain stock. I plan to buy one or two street cars to replace the race car. I think my ask price is fair, but I know the market isn't good on dedicated track cars with no period history. |
