:)

Warren,

It is getting down into the 70s here at night and I use a fan all night and you are talking about extra blankets! You need to come spend a Summer out here. And bring the Cobra. There are a lot of mountain places you could get some great backgrounds for pictures. Just stay off the main bridges.

I take no claim for this. Just posting it for another who was not able to.

THIS ONE OUTTA PISS YOU OFF

It did me!

THIS ONE OUTTA PISS YOU OFF.

A Conversation between a Customer and Bank of America

Bank: This is the Bank of America, can I help you?

Customer: Yes, I want to cancel my account. I don't want to
do business with you any longer.

Bank: Why?

Customer: You're giving credit to illegal immigrants, and I
don't think it's right. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Bank: Well, Mr. Customer, we don't want to see you do that,
but we can't stop you. I'll help you close the account. What is your
account number?

Customer: (gives account number)

Bank: For security purposes and for your protection, can
you please give me the last four digits of your social security number?

Customer: No.

Bank: Mr. Customer, I need to verify your information, but
in order to help you, I'll need verification of who you are.

Customer: Why should I give you my social security number?
The reason I'm closing my account is that your bank is issuing credit
cards to illegal immigrants who don't have social security numbers.
You are targeting that audience and want their business. Let's say I'm
an illegal immigrant and you've given me a credit card. I have a
question about it and call for assistance. You wouldn't be asking me for
a Social Security number, would you?

Bank: No sir, I wouldn't.

Customer: Why not?

Bank: Because you would have pressed '2' to speak in
Spanish. We don't ask for that information when calling in on the Spanish
line.

(Can you believe this crap?)

CHECK THIS OUT ON SNOPES! IT'S TRUE!

trularin 08-04-2007 06:45 AM

Well, that isn't surprising, but it certainly is revealing.

People seem to follow along with whatever is asked of them, legal or not. The bank legally should not ask you for your SS#, MINE says something like, "Not to be used for identification" on my Social Security Card.

:D :D

wtm442 08-04-2007 08:14 AM

I do not do any banking with BOA. I've always been with local small banks ... I like the better service. I saw that e-mail about BOA about 2 weeks ago and also checked it out on snopes.

Regarding "Press 1 for English", whenever I get a recorded message, the first button I press is "Zero" because it usually gets you to an English speaking operator. I just love answering 5 questions by pushing buttons, and then when I get to a live person, they ALWAYS ask for some of the info you just supplied by pushing buttons!

Going to a picnic this afternoon about 30 miles away. Temp supposed to be low 90's and humid with possible thunderstorms. Decisions ... decisions. Take the Cobra or the air-conditioned Merc?

Is that the black leather seats in your Cobra, or the black leather outfit with whips and chain you wear for your significant other?

Ron61 08-04-2007 08:49 AM

:)

Warren,

Drive the Cobra. It will impress more people than the Merc. Just ignore the heat for the 15 minutes it takes you to drive the 30 miles.

Tru,

Are you going to let Warren get away with that? For Heavens sake, take a drive in your Cobra so he can't claim you just like to look at it.

Ron

trularin 08-04-2007 10:49 AM

I see we don't have anything better to do than insult people today.

Hmmm.....

Ron61 08-05-2007 04:54 AM

:)

Good morning all. Sunday and the temperature dropped all the way into the low 70s last night. And this is August, but just the beginning. Hope that you all have a nice day. :)

trularin 08-05-2007 06:23 AM

Looks to rain rather vigorously today. Good, the plants need it.

:D

Ron61 08-05-2007 07:12 AM

Tru,

I wish we could have some rain but not the 3" in 15 minute type we had the last time we had some. Just a long, steady, all day rain that would soak in and get the dust out of the air. I think most of the people around here would even feel better.

Ron :)

wtm442 08-05-2007 07:33 AM

Good morning world!

Ron - took the Cobra yesterday and got about 20 drops of rain on it later in the day. Of course, it got to about 95°F while I was driving. About 3 miles into the ride, the highway traffic went to crap. Boy, then it really got hot in stop and go driving.

The heat broke last night here too. Got down to about 65°F.

No good car shows anywhere close today, so maybe a ride to nowhere. Missed a third gear shift yesterday. Ouch! The sound, the pain, the stupidity. Nothing hurt other than my pride. Reminded me of the time I hand-grenaded my 4 speed in my 442. The only gear that continued working was 4th and the tranny sounded like a mix-master filled with bolts.

Tru - I'm sorry if you think I insulted you yesterday, and apologize.

Ron61 08-05-2007 07:42 AM

:)

Warren,

Glad that you took the Cobra and the rain didn't amount to much. But I am only to aware of that having to sit in traffic when it is hot and humid. That is why I normally take the back roads around Redding if at all possible. Today would probably be a good day for a drive and I need to take the 69 out, but I want to watch the race. Decisions, Decisions!!!!

Ron :3DSMILE:

wtm442 08-05-2007 07:58 AM

Do both. You get up at 3 AM, don't you?

You can tape the race and watch it later. I assume your Betamax is still working? I remember the first one I bought  $1200.00   Finally threw it out 2 years ago and bought a VHS model for $59. Maybe within a few decades I'll get a DVD player.

Its 74°F and sunny ... only going to 80°F this afternoon. My kind of weather.

Ron61 08-05-2007 08:18 AM

:)

I have a DVD recorder built into my satellite receiver that will record 100 hours. Then my VCR will play DVDs and tapes. And it only cost me just over $180. But every time I have ever recorded a race or anything, someone will sure as the devil tell me all about it before I get to watch it so I just don't bother. ;)

Ron

Ibr8k4vetts 08-05-2007 09:01 AM

The only rain round here is ash... and a lot of it! I drove the Cobra on Friday and now my black interior is gray:CRY:

wtm442 08-05-2007 09:08 AM

Ash? You in the middle of a forest fire?

Mike,

Do you know where the San Marcos Pass is and if Paradise Camp is still just over it? I lived there many years ago before moving up here. My Father was a foreman on the Cachuma Dam and tunnel project. I am sure that it isn't as nice as it used to be, but I did go to the beaches a lot back then. Also loved Santa Ynez and Solvang. They had a great bakery at Solvang back then and I remember the acres of Tulips.

Ron :)

4RE KLR 08-06-2007 08:19 AM

It hot outside.

Geeze allready at 9:00 AM it is over 80* **)

wtm442 08-06-2007 10:31 AM

Took a nice ride yesterday. Temp of about 77°F when I started at noon. Got back just in time to see the flag drop for the NASCAR race.

Took a ride around where I live (its a peninsula). Here is a very small house that sits on the ocean (ocean front, not just ocean view). I think that my house which is about 1/4 mile away would fit in the 3 car garage!

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSCN1203.JPG

Here is another nice location about 200 yds away from the above house. Its actually an open lot between 2 other houses. Must be restricted that you cannot build on it, because if you could, that small lot (40 by 80 ft) would be worth over a million!
