:)

Warren,

You have been busy. Now you can help Kristen as Fred keeps making fun of her attached picture. I didn't have any trouble seeing it at all after I got my big magnifying glass.

the good news... i found two different locations in my HP photo thing to resize. It took about 20 minutes to find it!!

oh well....
now if i just remember where it is..... %/

K
Download the resizer tool from Microsoft. Then you can resize a photo down to the 75 to 100 KB size for loading it to any web site. Its real easy, especially since it will be a right mouse click function.

Look on right hand side of page about 3/4 down the page.

Isn't it just like scrap booking to a certain degree? My sister is heavily into scrap booking and she spend hours and hours on photos so she can print various shots of people.

She scanned in a photo from the 1920's of my father's family that was all crinkles and lines. She spent about an hour working on the one photo. After the work, you would swear it was just taken.

That is the tool I have and use, very easy.

Warren/Ron,
Do you need to have XP for this tool ?
I think Kristen has a version earlier than XP.

hey,littlecobra 12-02-2007 10:38 AM

I have xp. i think.....

392cobra 12-02-2007 10:40 AM

Hope you do,it will make it all a lot easier.

wtm442 12-02-2007 10:40 AM

The resizer tool will work on WinXP. I've heard there may be a problem with Vista, but I'm not sure.

Ron61 12-02-2007 10:40 AM

:)

Fred,

I am pretty certain it will work with 95/98 as well as XP. But it won't work with Vista from what I have seen. Only person here that has Vista refuses to let me try it as he is having so much trouble already he is almost afraid to turn his computer on.

Ron

hey,littlecobra 12-02-2007 10:41 AM

heck. do i want to 'run' or 'save' it??

392cobra 12-02-2007 10:43 AM

I would save it.

hey,littlecobra 12-02-2007 10:50 AM

then what?? I saved it, ran it. now what???
i guess i don't get this!!!!
go to my pictures and right click??
am i gonna have to read something to figure this out?????

392cobra 12-02-2007 10:53 AM

Yes,go to where your pictures are saved on your computer.
Then Right click on an individual picture.

hey,littlecobra 12-02-2007 10:54 AM

thanks! will deal with this later. gotta go. :)

Ron61 12-02-2007 11:35 AM

Here is what you should see when you Right click on a photo.

Edit: If it would help I will make a step by step instruction lay out and e-mail it to you. Heck, since he is finished with his I will e-mail you Warren and he can sit and do yours.

Fred told her to save the file on her computer. Now she has to find the executable file and run it. Opppppssssssss. Looks like she did that already. Never mind.

The Image Resizer, when installed, enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click.

First, download the file from this URL, and save on your desktop.

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe

When you have downloaded the file, close all programs and locate the file, ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe, on your desktop.

Double-click to launch the installer and follow the instructions, taking the default choice on each page.

When the installation completes, you are done. You can delete the file you downloaded from your desktop.
This little program modifies the right-click context menu such that, when you point to any standard image file, you will now see a choice in the menu called "Resize Pictures."

hey,littlecobra 12-02-2007 01:49 PM

number of photos: 680/399
number of comments: 111/107
number of times photos viewed: 90,998/58,027
disk space used 795.6/465.9

ugh. first sweep of deletes. I feel like part of my 'heart' has been ripped out! :(

wtm442 12-02-2007 02:05 PM

Kristen
Go to your gallery and at the top of the page, display 90 pictures per page with the selection set for Gallery.

Now scroll down to the bottom of the page and select

FILESIZE
BEGINNING
DESCENDING

and click on SORT NOW

This way, all of the biggest file sizes will be on page 1. Now scroll thru the pages and see which ones you want to delete.

Ron61 12-02-2007 02:33 PM

:)

Warren,

Nice job in your gallery. I like the albums.

Ron :)

wtm442 12-02-2007 03:47 PM

Thanks Ron

So far, so good. I'm resizing about 20 pics at a time and putting them into new albums. Then checking the thread and revising the link so the pic shows.

Still have some more album titles I want to create.

Good thing I'm retired.

OK, time to put in the veggies for my corned beef dinner. Boy, does it smell gooooooooddddd.
