If you've ever worked for a boss that reacts before
getting the facts and thinking things through, you will love
this story.....

Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shake-up,
hired a new CEO and he was determined to rid the company of
all slackers.

On a tour of the facilities, the new CEO noticed a guy
leaning against a wall. The room was full of workers and he
wanted to let them know that he meant business. He walked up
to the guy at the wall and asked, 'How much money do you
make a week?'

A little surprised, the young man looked at him and
replied, 'I make about $400 a week. Why ?'

The CEO then handed the guy $1,600 in cash and screamed,
'Here's four weeks' pay, now GET OUT and
don't come back!' The guy left without saying a
word to the CEO.

Feeling pretty good about himself, the CEO looked around
the room and asked, 'Does anyone want to tell me what
that goof-ball did here? '

From across the room came a voice, 'Pizza delivery
guy from Domino's.'

Quite a bit of wind here the past couple of days and it is getting hot with the humidity. I wanted to clean the 69 yesterday but I can't open the garage door with this wind blowing as it is like a vacuum and every leaf and speck of dust and pollen that blows by comes in. And it is way to hot in there to do much work with the door closed.
You wouldn't believe how things have dried out in two days. It is as we never had any of that rain a couple of days ago. Just one minor fire so far. A house and shed burnt in Redding but they got it out before it got to the next house and into the brush.

Another nice day here in Hawaii. Of course I still can't drive because of
my new shoulder. Let me guess, when I get the green light it will be
raining for a while! At least the healing and PT are going well.:)

That is good to hear. It is almost 90 here today and to hot to do much. Wind has blown most of the day too. I have been trying to get the wheels set on the tractor's mower and what a job that is. But I am slowly getting there. I don't like manuals that cover ever make they made as all they do is confuse everyone. I spent an hour looking for a fuse panel that doesn't exist.

It is supposed to be in the low 90s here today and I hope that wind will stop as it is just tinder dry now. Anything could cause a big fire to just sort of blow up and spread quickly. People who live in the hills have already made up a list and packed a lot of things that they would need in case they have to leave in a hurry. The bad thing for them is some of them live several miles up in those mountains and they just have one narrow road, which is really a driveway to get in and out. Some have had to have theirs widened some just so a fire truck could get up there.

Why Daddy Didn’t Come To Work…

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee’s home phone # and was greeted with a child’s whisper
“Hello”
Is your daddy home? he asked.
“Yes.” whispered the small voice.
May I talk with him?
The child whispered, “no.”
Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, “Is your mommy there?”
“Yes.”
May I talk with her?
Again the small voice whispered, “No.”
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the asked, “Is anybody else there?”
“Yes” whispered the child, “A policeman !!”
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee’s home, the boss asked, “May I speak with the policeman?”
“No, he’s busy.” whispered the child.
“Busy doing what?”
“Talking to daddy and mommy and the fireman,” came the whispered answer.
Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, “What is that noise?”
“A helicopter.” answered the whispering voice.
“What is going on there?” demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.
Again, whispering, the child answered, “The search team just landed.”
Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, “What are they searching for?”
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle……..
“ME !”

It was here earlier. Lot of lightning and thunder. Power even flickered for a bit and got my hopes up of going home early :p

Wow, I just came in from mowing all of my out front, the upper driveway and upper lot and it was fun for the first time in 25 years. That tractor that my cousin bought and had delivered to me is great. It is a Sears Craftsman 21 horse with a 42" cut and you can get a huge amount of attachments for it including a blade, front end bucket and such. It took me about 25 minutes to do the whole thing and with the old walk behind mower I am fortunate to get it all done in 3 hours. And I got it finished before the heat got bad. To bad my gates to the yards are to small to get it into them as I could do everything but around some of the tight places and then finish it with the regular mower. But I catch the stuff from the yard and pile it up in the upper lot area as I don't want those burs that I cut just laying in the yard so I will continue to use my regular mower for that. I can see that I am going to have to get another set of blades so I can always have one set sharp as that lot is so uneven and rough and the gophers push dirt and rocks up, so every time I mow it I hit a bunch of small rocks and a lot of the dirt.

I have a 52" cut Craftsman with a 28hp Kohler. It is great. I have no problems with it at all. Your right there are sooo many attachments for these. They even have a front end loader for it with a add on hydraulic kit so it will work.

I also have a 24" cut Craftsman self propelled that I like as well. It starts on the first pull every time. It has a neat device that I hook a water hose up to it after I am done mowing. I just turn on the water and start the mower and it washes the underside of the mower. Looks brand new.

I really like pretty much all the craftsman tools.

Steve, you didn't take a job at Sears did you?

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but you seem a bit set on Sears.

Same here Steve. Everything that I have in my house and all of my tools and lawn equipment are Craftsman. I was looking at the front end bucket loader and one of the dump carts for later on down the road. The water device sounds like what I have on my newer( 6 ) years old lawn mower. The older mower, ( 9 years old ) didn't have that so I have to turn it on its side to clean the wet weeds that have stuck to the underside out. But it mulches them so fine it is like taking a handful of wet snow and throwing it out.

Now that is neat. I have a new Troy built that I bought that is nice, but it does not have that self cleaning feature.

Heck no, I just have always liked their tools. When I was younger I broke a ratchet (and my knuckles) My dad told if I hadn't bought "chit for tools" that would not have happened.

Lesson learned.

You can get one at Sears and drill a hole in the body of your mower and install it. I think it cost $10. if I rember right. The instal is quick and painless. It was already on mine but I was talking to the salesman about getting a couple for the rider.

They work great!!!

I will have to remember that.
