Ron

A few days below 100 ºF ????? Wow.

Stopped raining a couple of hours ago. Sun is out and temp is 70 ºF.

Guess what I'm going to do? GO FOR A RIDE

Guess I'll have to wear my winter jacket, cuz temp will be down to low 60's in a few hours. I'll mail you a box of coolness if you keep the Mt Shasta Goddess happy.

Still have not painted the front porch screens ... maybe tomorrow. The retired mantra for eternal happiness ... repeat after me ... Never do anything today that you can put off until tomorrow.:) :) :)

no, I was actually meaning in 'live conversations'. It's kind of hard to butt in too much online!

yes, I knew it was the lowbeams. Not paying attention while I was typing. sorry!
off to get kids. I've had a nice monday home alone. finally. I deserve it after this weekend. Children.

Ron61 08-28-2006 01:42 PM

Warren,

What has retirement got to do with putting stuff off? I have did that my whole life.

Ron :JEKYLHYDE

wtm442 08-28-2006 05:05 PM

OK Ron, but you can put more things OFF when you are unemployed (retired). I must have 30 to 50 projects going at present. As soon as I finish one, I think of 2 more.

I actually use Excel to list all of my projects. One side is personal and the house, etc. The reverse side is for my 3 cars. I keep all my notes on the sheet folded up in my shirt pocket. Then when I'm shopping or at the auto parts store I just look at the paper. Saves me time, so I can goof off longer and go for extra rides. I usually update the list once a week.

As soon as I opened the garage door this afternoon, it started to sprinkle. No ride in the Cobra - darn it. So I washed my daily driver (darn birds - left it under the telephone wires out front for about 4 days). Then I broke down and did some weeding and gardening.

Time to go. The chicken and potatoes are almost done.:D :D :D :D

Ron61 08-29-2006 05:39 AM

:) Warren,

I tried the note in the shirt pocket trick once but could never remember which pocket I put it in. So I got one of those voice activated pocket size tape recorders and if I think of something I just say it and then later I sit down and listen to the tape to see if I said anything intelligent. Plus it is easy to erase things that I really don;t want to do. **)

Ron

Third day of rain. Hmm.....

I got a final price on the transmission conversion, yiks!

Anyone doing anything special over the holiday?? And, Warren, driving the cara is understood, I no longer think that is special for you.

Ron61 08-29-2006 07:40 AM

Tru,

Nothing special over the holiday. May do a little work around the place if the weather cools down to under 100 like they say. I just don't want to be out in the crazy traffic we have here as everyone rushes to the lake. :o

Driving for Warren isn't special. He just likes to gloat because it is to hot or to wet for most of us to do much driving and he is having all of that perfect weather. But his time is coming. I have spoken to the Mt. Shasta goddess about him.

Ron :D

trularin 08-29-2006 08:28 AM

Put in a good word for us.

:D :D :D

wtm442 08-29-2006 02:46 PM

Hey - raining here today too. Two days without a ride ... I'm going into withdrawal.

I'll be going to my car club's 26th annual car show. We have anywhere from 650 to 850 vehicles every year. Fifty class and a lot of fun. I'll see if I can post an article of the show.

For anyone in New England, its on Sunday Sept 3rd at the Marshfield Fairgrounds, Marshfield, MA.

392cobra 08-29-2006 04:24 PM

Warren,
Do y'all have a Rain Date for your car show ?

It looks like y'all are going to get REAL WET up there this weekend.

BTW - I do hope I'm wrong on the weather.

392cobra 08-29-2006 04:40 PM

I really don't know about Saturday yet.

File this under It's a Small World.
I went over to the DFW Gun Range this afternoon to practice with my .357 & .38 and guess who had the stall next to me ?
Drew Baird. Hadn't seen him since the '05 Meet in Austin.

wtm442 08-29-2006 04:58 PM

Fred - pray for good weather. Our rain date in Monday the 4th. We have never had to postpone the show in 26 staright years.

Ron61 - put in a good word to the Mt Shasta Goddess, and hope the hurricane goes way out to sea.

hey,littlecobra 08-29-2006 05:22 PM

saw him at the Winter Nationals at KCracing in Plano this winter. Maybe January??? February??? I think it was before Austin this year.

have a good show, Warren.

I heard today that we are supposed to have a 'cold front' this evening. Down to 64*, and hi of 89* tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it, but right now it doesn't seem too bad outside. Kids are on the trampoline....

k

wtm442 08-29-2006 05:38 PM

Kristen
You have a trampoline for your kids? Wanna adopt another? I don't eat much.

trularin 08-30-2006 04:07 AM
