How to Cook a Perfect Steak

Read an interesting article in local newspaper about the best way to cook a steak inside the house (no charcoal). I'm going to try it soon.

I do it similarly but I use a cast iron pan and I get it white hot. Put the steak in for about 4 minutes. Meanwhile I have the oven on 500. I flip the steak and put the whole pan in the oven for another 4 minutes.

Make sure you have good ventilation and the batteries are out of the smoke detector.

By the way, thick ribeyes are the best.

Exactly the way I cook them too roscoe.

I have taught many good friends the same way after they have eaten one of mine.

Same here, but only when it's raining. We have three cast iron skillets, one for cornbread, one for steaks and one for pot roast.
I always throw a shot of JB on my steak, nice flavor...

Many of great chefs do it this way.. If you follow Alton Brown or Emeril -- a good room temp steak to start -- insert sliced garlic cloves and season with sea salt..cooked this way.. - almost shear perfection. :)

I wave a butane lighter under mine and consider it done! If I want it well done i'll hit it with the propane torch for 2 seconds on each side!

If it aint mooing it's overdone!
