Barry Bonds ---Pitch or Walk

Here is the scenario. You are pitching against Barry Bonds. He has the potential of tying or breaking Hank Arron's record.

DO YOU>>>>
1. Intentionally walk him
2. Pitch like any other day
3. Pitch to him but don't give him anything close to the strike zone. In essence an unintentional/intentional walk.

Who would want to be remembered as the pitcher to give up the tying HR to hypodermic man?

What would you do!

Ron61 07-22-2007 06:24 AM

I don't like him and never have. I would most likely hit him.

Ron

Oversight on my part. I should have added option # 4

4. Hit him

jeff.nel 07-22-2007 07:08 AM

95 mph in his ear hole. He's a jerk.

wtm442 07-22-2007 07:21 AM

Bean ball:eek:

65LA 07-22-2007 08:45 AM

A pitcher's job is to throw the ball - strike the batter out. The batter's job is to try to hit the pitched ball.

If professional players would think back and play how they felt when they were 9 yrs old playing in a tournament...baseball or any sport for that matter would be as exciting to watch again - because it would be a game of heart and soul...not a game to enlarge - already too big for their pants egos. IMO

Jamo 07-22-2007 11:12 AM

...added a poll.

jams 07-22-2007 11:48 AM

If the player earned each home run, I would have no issue pitching to him. In Bonds case walk, walk, walk and maybe a plunk.

BeanCounter 07-22-2007 07:48 PM

Okay, the fix must be in. If Ron, jams, jeff, and I would hit him how come it only shows 2.

Jamo 07-22-2007 08:40 PM

I put the poll up after they posted.

How many would you like to hit him? :p

Ron61 07-23-2007 05:31 AM

:)

Well Jamo since you asked, everyone. But with the lousy pitching they have for the most part now I guess 25% would be about the maximum that could hit anything they threw at. :D

Ron

Sharroll Celby 07-23-2007 09:11 PM

I would pitch him "High and Inside". And if a couple of balls hit him in his steroid-swollen noggin, well, "That's Baseball!"

imagine2frolic 07-24-2007 07:56 AM

Smoltz pitched to him all day long.........

jams 07-24-2007 09:10 AM

Smolts did take care of business but it is only a matter of time.

Bonds pulls within 1 of Aaron's record with 754th homer

He was walked 4 times after his homer yesterrday.

Ron61 07-28-2007 08:43 AM

Well with all the games left there is little doubt he will break the record, but I hate to see him get it. His Father was a great player and classy person. This arrogant, steroid taking jerk doesn't care anything at all about the team, just his own records and stats. :(

Ron

Uhhh, I think thats called 'professional sports' nowadays....:JEKYLHYDE
Seems like the A-holes get all the ink while decent guys who do their best AND make positive impact get ignored. What a role model scenario  .
Perfect example here in Dallas...Terry Glenn and "The Jerk". :(
As for Bonds, pitch the game straight up and strike his needle scarred azz out. Baseball has already rendered it's verdict; Commish not appearing, Aaron ignoring him. Seems like a replay to a lesser degree of Ty Cobb, lot's of records and no memory because the guy was a tool.

Hey All,
I'm selling one of my Barry Bonds rookie cards to the highest bidder. I do not believe the steroid stories about Barry and believe he will be completely exonerated of all claims against him and land firmly in the Hall of fame someday.

I am including a scanned copy of the card. As you can see, it's in mint condition.

Ron61 07-29-2007 04:50 AM

:D

Warren,

Was he so doped up then that he had to have Sammy Davis Jr. pose for the picture. :D

Aside from the steroid use or not...controversy....

how many of you are going to watch his next game...just because you saw Hank do it...and it's history in the making.. and who will be next in line?
