Vick accepts plea agreement

Well, I dunno how many football fans we have out there but what's your take on this situation?

Mine is this... No question he had involvement. He would have been absolutely stupid not to accept a plea deal when they had already given all his buddies deals to testify against him!!! The arguement could definately have been "well of course the guilty will accept a deal when they're facing big time! the feds only wanted Vick so all they gotta do is say it was him and they're let off easier!! Why not?"

I watched a thing about dog fighting the other day where these people go around and steal other peoples dogs to throw into a pit and train their fighters. I'd love to see them come for my dogs! I have 2 150-160lb Italian Mastiffs that are very friendly when they know you... but don't come into their territory if they don't know yoU!!!

So what will Vick get? My guess is 1-2 yrs and big fine. he'll be out on good behavior in 8mo. Maybe even playing football again next season... but definitely NOT with the Falcons!

How about they throw him in there with a couple of the fighting dogs? See how he does?

Check out his younger brother Marcus.

The whole family is not right

imagine2frolic 08-20-2007 01:08 PM

He needs to be banned for life. Kids need to realize that there are repurcussions for stupid behaviour. If he ever plays again it will be a sad day.

bomelia 08-20-2007 02:15 PM

My guess is he will be lucky if he gets to play in a foreign league. Nobody will want to touch him. He sure as hell will not get endorsements. Wonder what Dion (sp??) is saying now? I wish they had used Vick to get to the other scum bag dog fighters. For bagging say 10 rings of fighters, he could have recieved a smaller sentence. But there is honor amongs theives...my guess is he tells on no one.

Now the real animal will be in a cage.

Cobrabill 08-20-2007 08:24 PM

Dollars to donuts he does no time.

Jamo 08-20-2007 08:28 PM

NCAA keeps letting morons play in college.

hey,littlecobra 08-20-2007 08:32 PM

NAACP, actually. ;)

Buzz 08-20-2007 10:30 PM

What the fuuck does this have to do with the NAACP? Vick is an a$$hole that needs to go down and pay for what he did - maybe even a little extra pain and suffering for making such a waste of an opportunity for a great career and the chance to be a positive role model to impressionable kids. The eagerness of redneck numbskulls like yourself to do what y'all constantly accuse others of doing by turning issues like this into a racial commentary is really pathetic. Here - wink this ;)

Excaliber 08-20-2007 10:39 PM

Well the basic problem does relate to ALL professional sports these days. WHY do let these a$$holes continue to play? Follow the money I guess...

Buzz 08-20-2007 11:02 PM

Much like politics, I suppose. In principle, the money - like the ballot - depends entirely on what price the public is willing to pay to see the team to victory. It's been said that in a democracy, people get the government they deserve because ultimately it's a reflection of what they choose in order to suit their wants and needs. In sports, the paying fans and viewers are where the money comes from and the state of the industry is a result of years of slackened standards in the name of glory for the team, the college, the city or the state. Winning at all costs can become costly indeed. The burden of responsibility for the morons getting fastracked through school and into multi million dollar contracts lies with those who are footing the bill.

Ron61 08-21-2007 05:32 AM

I have to agree with Buzz. This crap goes on in every so called sport and when they do decide to do something the punishment never seems to fit the crime. I watched a whole segment on Vick yesterday and he has been into one minor scrape after another. In one, he even said that people looked upon him as a God and he had to set an example for them. I wish they would throw him into the pit with a few of the dogs and let those people see their example in action. To call him an idiot and moron would be a compliment IMHO.

Ron :)

Heard an interview this morning from a basketball player from either the knicks or Nets supporting Vick.

What an idiot---He says "people shoot deer and no one says anything" "From what I hear dog fighting is a sport"

Maybe this guy will be called to testify on Vick's behalf.

Amazing how some of these stars make it through college!

hey,littlecobra 08-21-2007 06:47 AM

hey, I was just being a smarta$$! I totally agree....
I'm WAITING to see it turn into a race deal, tho'.

I don't go to or watch pro sports and even the former excitement of watching college is gone. The sports pedestal is disgusting.

I watch my kids in jr./sr. high sports, and that's good enough for me.

Years ago you could watch a pro game like football or baseball and actually enjoy it. I'd go to a Rangers game and HAVE FUN with the players- and even get tossed a couple of balls from the dugout. The enjoyment of even going to a Rangers game is gone. I couldn't care less if it was a 'losing season'. I love to watch baseball! But ALL major sports have turned into a money pit and the players are frequently immune to any kind of standard. They forget where they came from; fans turn the other way.... And the 'management'?? ugh......
;) back atya Buzz, I was just playing around. :)

edit to add.... and the more I think about it, the more this ALL bothers me! Anybody wanna tell me those smart sports guys get an EDUCATION from these colleges, universities??
Isn't that what college is SUPPOSED to do? Give you a better education so you can have more knowledge and information and consequently get a better job?? I got my BS (no, i wasn't spouting bs) and made x amount of money. Got my MEd, and got a little more. I cannot believe that these talented but stupid sports figures have actually learned anything!
I went to Baylor U in Waco my freshman year. I was in 'dumb math students freshman math class'. So was this very well known STAR football player. He was a senior. in a freshman math class. Whaddya think?? He got a degree from Baylor. But.... can he do math?? hmmmmmm
Can any of these current stars do anything??
I do not refer to stars like Roger Dodger, or any of the stars from 30 years ago. They were all smart back then, and cute and played football really well. :D (roger staubach, my hero, btw)

Silverback51 08-21-2007 07:10 AM

I seen a picture of one of the his dogs after a fight. :(

As far as I'm concerned they can lock him up forever.

bomelia 08-21-2007 08:01 AM

If the NFL wants to continue to be a reality, they had better watch out for the soccer moms. In the home, the first line of defense is mom...(least wise in ours it is). What can and cannot be watched is largely up to her. The NFL needs to have a "role model" clause... a standard. If players do not live up to the standard...they are out. Period. Vick should never come back. He has a right to earn a living...but not in the NFL. Too bad, too sad. My kids will not be exposed to a$$holes like him. Same goes for all the other sports. The "bad boy" era should be over. Do drugs? You are out. Zero Tolerance. Steal a pizza? You are out. Rape a girl? Out. Gamble? Out. DUI? Out. Punch a fan? Out. Steroids? OUT. Zero tolerance will end it all. Our kids have to deal with zero tolerance at school every day. These freaking primadonas should have to also. I deal with zero tolerance at work...and so do most of you.

I heard a comment the other night, and I think it fits. If it wasn't for pro sports a lot of these atheletes would already be convicts. They have a wonderful chance to get away from the hood, and become good citizens, but they just throw it away. I wish the honor students would get the special treatment that the atheletes get. Of course the honor students are to busy studying to get into much trouble.....LOL

hey,littlecobra 08-21-2007 08:07 AM

the honor students become the 'brilliant' CEO's of humongous corporations and get sent to jail for stealing all their investor's money!! :D :JEKYLHYDE

(sorry couldn't resist; I'm off this thread! always gets too intense for me)

imagine2frolic 08-21-2007 08:34 AM
