Ignorance of the law excuses no man. They have laws designed to keep structure in their society. Their emphasis is on the whole of society, rather than the individual. We in the US are so caught up in an individuals rights that we forget about the individuals responsibilities. BTW, I think that if the teacher gets punished then the kids should receive a lesser version of the same punishment. I think that their law is stupid, but I also think that not being able to buy beer on Sunday (because of some other extremeist religious laws) in my state is also stupid. Fortunately, I live right next to New Hampshire, and they don't practise the same 14th century religious thinking regarding their booze that my state does. Steve |

Yep - they are being stupid. They are (and have been) doing exactly what we have been doing. We have idiots in this country saying the we need to nuke the whole area/kill all the Muslims, and so on - and we have the power to do so. They have idiots in their country who want to kill the foreigner who 'insulted' them - and they have the power to do so. Just because you might have the power to do something does not always mean that you should do it. Personally, I would rather those idiots in our country and the idiots in their country move to the moon and play their stupid little games over whose god has the bigger Samson.:LOL: :p Steve |
