I can't stand that guy!!! He is using us as a cop out. Prices are high because of GREED! Their GREED, coupled with our gov'ts incompetence has destroyed our economy and caused the dollar to plumet.

A barrel of oil is going to continue to rise whether our dollar gets stronger or not. They've set themselves up for a bust and now they're using us to prolong their GREED.

Your law makers are responsibile for the 'off limits/no drilling' in certain parts of the U.S. and, 'you' keep them in office..............Don't complain.

How old does one have to be to understand the concept of supply & demand?

Oh yeah! Many of the same folks screaming "Greed!!" are the same ones who are (were) happy watching their homes appreciate at 10% a year. No screaming of greed there! Same supply & demand process at work.

Get used to these prices and MUCH higher. Read the peak oil website. edumacate yourself. Of course, there is no investment bubble here. It is what it is.

Oil companies are making record profits because of record demand. Supply problems mean they, and us, have to pay higher prices, but the high prices appear to be doing very little to curb demand, which of course means prices will stay high, and oil profits will be high.

Of course, if you wanna believe the tripe about greedy oil companies, be my guest. Ignorance of how things work will always be with us.

Solutions are:
1.) Conserve
2.) Build more refineries
3.) Drill for more oil
4.) Develop sensible alternatives (nuclear, hydro, bio, etc)
5.) Vote for trues conservatives (political)

There is ONLY a supply and demand issue because they are making it that way.. out of greed!

Mike, I agree with all of your solutions to the supply and demand issue. Unfortunately, as demand drops, so will supply. Wierd how that happens huh? It's how they keep the prices up! It's how greedy businesses are run!

What??? Who is "they"?

C'mon! Get off the "big bad oil" company crap. There are REAL changes happening in the world today. China is one country that is really driving this process. India is not far behind. These countries far outnumber us in population, yet in many ways have third world components that want to become like us. Its not hard to imagine what that does to demand.

Oil companies wanna drill. They also wanna refine. Ask yourself how politics gets in the way of both of these issues in the US.

Normally you say reasonable things. But you are pushing yourself further out the gang plank with this silliness. If people believe like you and foist more political "solutions" on big oil, you can bet one thing will surely happen. Prices will go up again, but for an additional reason.

These truckers driving around DC complaining about the cost of fuel are trying to do what? Get the government to do what? Force oil companies to sell an expensive product at a lossy price?

READ peak oil. This situation has been predicted for years.

Its HEEEEeeeer.

Mike

Thats odd. I work on a military base (Redstone Arsenal) and yes they do tend to block things... some things make no sense, so we are free to submitt change requests to the IT department to get sites unblocked. You migh want to try that... at least find out why that site is being blocked.

There are some really retarded things blocked over here. I am IT. But my people sitting right next to me run these things. They don't have many permissions to control it. It's all maintained by group policies. They could ask but it's not exactly on their priority list. No biggy!!

27 days!!!
