The referenced Turbonique Drag Axle ? For real or ?


1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Rocket Car

During Dana Mecum’s Original Spring Classic Auction held between May 15 and May 18 this 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 rocket car will be put up for sale. The car is equipped with a supercharged 427 and a 850 horsepower Turbonique turbine Rocket Drag Axle. This is how urban legends get started about JATO bottles and cars embedded in cliffs. Over the years had never seen any references to the Drag Axle or the car, wonder if the 1/4 mile time & speed was ever published ?
