Muslims outraged at police advert featuring cute puppy sitting in policeman's hat
By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 12:15 PM on 01st July 2008 A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims. Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community. The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer's hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine. The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert. Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards. 'It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities. 'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.' Councillor Asif, who is a member of the Tayside Joint Police Board, said that the force had a diversity adviser and was generally very aware of such issues. He raised the matter with Mr Vine at a meeting of the board. On another dog note: A trial has finally started for two guy's who worked at a local golf course here in Hawaii and stole a golfers dog, took it home and ate it. 'Cause, well, thats what some Fillipinos do 'back home'.

On behalf of Brits everywhere, may I apologize for the complete lack of balls that the Scots have demonstrated here. I TRULY admired the Scots for their damned tenacity and resolve through the oppression that we English put them through over the centuries, but dear god, how far have a mighty people now fallen...THIS IS APPALLING !!!

You know, on further reflection I think the blame for this lies CLEARLY at America's doorstep...let me explain..
1) If you hadn't saved our raggedy asses in WWII, the Germans would have won... 2) If THAT had happened, we would NOT have opened up every immigration gate in every British port and airport to ANYONE from the old British Empire... 3) because there is NO way that the Germans would have allowed them in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so...it's all YOUR faults that this puppy ad caused such a stir...how do feel about THAT eh???? hmmmm...
