" AMG headquarters is in Affalterbach and was the home town of the company's co-founder Hans Werner Aufrecht. In 1967 Aufrecht started what is known as AMG, a small private car tuning company with his business partner, Erhard Melcher. In 1976, the company had 40 employees and moved its base to an old mill in the village of Grossaspach and a legendary marque, commonly known as AMG was born. "
