Match - O - Matic - - - McCain or Obama?
ABC has a test at the below address to see who's campaign statements, McCain's or Obama's, you agree with most. They don't tell you who made the statements, of course, but a statement made by each candidate on the same topic (economy, immigration, judiciary, etc.) will be side by side.
You just pick which statement you agree with and, after selecting all 13, you'll find out which candidate's philosophy you support.
http://abcnews.go.com/politics/Match...age?id=5542139
Very interesting - I matched up with McCain on 8 statements and 5 with Obama.

oooh surprise, 9-4 McCain.. I TRULY would have voted for McCain if he hadn't picked for a running mate a right-wing, Christian, zealot (some redundancy there!) who ...
a) believes that global warming is a myth
b) is NOT pro-choice
c) kills things for a hobby
d) thinks the earth was created 4,000 years ago and that creationism is anything other than ludicrous...
but what do I know, I was educated in a series of liberal, European institutions where we thought academics was more important than who had the best football team...ROFL!! Guess that's why we lost The Empire...damn it!

11-2 McCain for me, not surprising really.
As for this comment:

a. "Man caused" global warming IS a myth. When all of this hype about global warming really started to get mainstream nobody bothered to mention that MOST of the other planets in our solar system were also experiencing global warming. On top of that in the last 2 years the trends have reversed. I'd be surprised that the media wasn't all over "global cooling" if I didn't understand what the "global warming crisis" is really all about : Global Warming is nothing more than an issue being used to fund the world's "Let's hate the United States" club also known as the United Nations.
b. You say that like it's a bad thing. IMO, the woman made her choice when she slept with that man. Oh sure, the lib's like to talk about those rare instances when a woman was raped, but face it: probably less than 1% of abortions fall under this category.
c. Again you say that like it's a bad thing. Take away hunting and you'll have an overpopulation of these animals causing starvation, illness and death in massive numbers. Hunting helps keep the number of animals in balance, especially since we humans have taken out most of these animals' natural predators.
d. First it's 6000 years, not 4000. Second, it takes alot more "faith" to believe in evolution than it does creation. I went through our public miseducation system, believed everything they taught me about evolution. Until, that is, I started digging into it myself. I came away with the conclusion that there is ALOT more evidence that the universe and everything in it was created, vs random happenstance. Believe if you want, that you evolved from a rock, the evidence points to a creator.

Glyn - ah - the vote hasn't happen yet!
So, you are voting for BO? Tell us why or is simply because he's opposite Sara on the points noted above?
What do you know? That's an excellent question.

10-3 McCain for me. No big surprise there either. Odd part is on the economics, 1 for each of them. That one surprised me.

I don't even understand how most of you can even pick a statement. Half of them were virtually identical. Take the illegal immigration statement. Both are basically saying let everybody stay and be happy. Bullcrap. Arrest the illegals and ship them back, close or fine businesses that are caught with a majority of illegals working for them, and secure the border permanently...use landmines if necessary.
Sheesh! The statements from both of them are the most pathetic comments I've read. Everybody is so afraid of telling it like it is. I'm glad I won't be voting for either of these f'ing pansy-arsed morons.

Interesting. I looked at the questions and the answers again. I am surprised I agreed with Obama on anything.
Hmm

CDC...I TRULY don't know right now whether I am voting for BO. I don't like Obama's stance on taxation at all...AT ALL, AT ALL and I have ALWAYS liked McCain and his previous stances against the "radical right", BUT I also have liberal tendencies (aaaaaagh...sorry guys, but I am a complete fiscal conservative). I eschew organized religion, and I truly hope the heck that MChat was joking when he said "First it's 6000 years, not 4000". How can ANY sentient being believe THAT????????????????
I thought this principles on which this country was formed were superb, especially the separation of church and state, but it seems we are regressing and now EVERY candidate has to make some kind of statement or another about HOW they believe in god more than the next guy, and for some bizarre reason it has to be a Christian god...actually, it has to be a Christian god as defined by the Council of Nicaea, not even the original one!!! I feel that McCain PANDERED to the right-wing, Christian bigots by appointing her, and THAT DISAPPOINTED ME! It just pi$$es me off, since I left a country where we were all supposed to be Church of England, and now it appears we are all supposed to be Christian...why does anyone care, it's all man-made anyhow?????
Consequently, my vote WAS going to go to "the lesser of two evils" (i.e. McCain) BUT, then he went and screwed up by appointing a "questionable" (to avoid any unnecessary hyperbolic response!) VP candidate. Sorry, I understand why some of you might think she is wonderful, but I just think she is an inexperienced, religious nutjob. Oh, and SHE HAS 5 KIDS...wtf is THAT about...what sort of "sensible decision making process" was involved in THOSE choices...she didn't check with me before she started a tribal community up there, and MY taxes are paying to educate at least 3 of them!!!! Can someone at least tell her where they are coming from?
I trusted McCain's judgement up until that choice, that's all, now I have serious doubts.
I LOVE this forum, and respect the freedoms in this country (perhaps more than most of the readers here since I am an immigrant, and have lived in 5 different countries and seen 5 different political systems at work!!!) that allow us to debate, argue, call one another names, express disgust at one another's opinions, but when push comes to shove, we would all help one another through the worst.
CDC, you and I 'debated' this a week or so ago, and I am still "in the damn middle". Up until yesterday I WAS voting for Obama, but as of today, after careful consideration of Obama's tax programs (!), I WOULD vote McCain today...and if he dies in office, I shall move to France (YES, FRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!) the very next day because WE WILL ALL BE COMPLETELY F***ED!
"what do I know?"...I know that..
a) we are sadly lacking in true statesmen in today's political environment and are consequently bickering over two individuals who are, at best, middle-of-the-road in intellect and leadership ability. Neither could be even close to rocket-scientists (and I DO know that one, since I used to be one... )
b) the best candidates NEVER run for office because the environment is too destructive
c) extremes in BOTH parties are completely destructive...left wing Democrats have way too many communist tendencies and right wing Republicans are like The Spanish Inquisition
d) we are stuck with Hobson's Choice for candidates
e) this country has been severely damaged by the last 8 years of Bush rule in ways that we still don't know or understand and we will be living with the economic, social, international and political consequences for decades to come.
f) the fighting men and women of this country should receive every gratitude from each and every one of us for a) putting their lives on the line so that WE can BS around on forums like this and b) putting up with the no-win situations that our braindead, incompetent politicians put them in every day
g) the designated hitter is not good for baseball
h) The peace sign is 50 years old this year, and represents the two semaphore letters N and D!!!!
i) I also know why the American Standard gauge railroad is 4' 8.5", why Easter is so called, the origin of the term Hat Trick, why the Romans used serif fonts and a host of other useless trivia...LOL
wow, sorry for rambling, I got on a roll
Glyn
