Senate Bail Out Bill & Wooden Arrows
Is ANYBODY reading this crap? A bail out plan that exempts wooden arrows used by children? WTF? Open the pdf and search for wooden arrows, mental health, and a whole lot of crap that has NOTHING to do with the bail out.
This is BS on an astronomical scale.
Please, lets all search this bill and post all the rediculous crap that is in it. No, this bill is not about removing things that lawmakers object to, its about BRIBING lawmakers to vote for it. Whats the REAL cost of this POS?
Wooden arrows my a$$.
Mike

I'm not alone in calling 'AND' emailing my lawmakers, demanding they vote 'NO'. It's a good thing that piece of trash was delayed, It gave folks time to think about it, and find out what's really in it!. Thanks Mike.

If THIS bill passes, then everybody is seriously sitting on their thumbs. Why the hell is nobody (Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly) talking about this? This IS the freaking story. It is so freaking obvious. Talk about a bridge to nowhere. Are you calling and emailing your senators?
Mad as hell,
Mike

The slimes and arrows of an outrageous fortune...
(I just made that up - pretty damn clever!)
Mike,
Like I said before - this is a form of corporate socialism. I also have to give credit to the bunch of GOP and the small handfull of DNC that voted against this.
Bush, McCain, and Obama all wanted this to pass.
I think we had three in MA that voted against it, and I'd bet $1000 that Ron Paul is against it as well. Anybody changing their mind about the presidential candidate they are voting for yet?
Steve

I suggest poison arrows (wood of course) in the asses and foreheads of each senator..(both parties) that voted for this "pig". In addition, just hang Barney by his thumbs and take away his food for a couple of months.
Am I a nut or what!

Yesterday our Representative announced that he had voted FOR this bill even though the calls and e-mails plus people going to his local office were running over 80% against it. His name is Wally Herger and he has yet to vote for anything that hasn't hurt the North State and yet he and his wealthy friends seem able to keep him in office. I have hopes that maybe this will be enough to get rid of him this next election. And of course he voted for the bill with great reluctance. But screw the people, he voted against them and what they wanted and he knew he was doing so.

Here is a link to the voting record of your state Representatives, I called every one of them this AM at their DC offices to let my feelings be known. I also asked how the phones were trending today, each office said the overwhelming feeling was NO Bailout!!
I called my Senators offices also for what it was worth.

What's sad, are the law makers that are termed as 'safe', no opponent in upcoming elections. I'm seriously looking at the independents we have.

Well if we don't do the bailout, I hope you have a ton of cash in your mattress. That's the only way you 'll be set for the consequences when all of the credit dries up.

There is NO DOUBT that there will be dire consequences when credit dries up (as it will and already is doing). And lots of folks will get hurt. But to let these SOB's off the hook when many should be pounding rocks in prison is a sorry alternative. Even if they bail them out, there is no assurance the problem won't pop back up down the road. I had friends who got bailed out by their parents everytime they screwed up. Some of those folks spent time in prison. Thats what happens when people do not face consequences for their actions.
Once they (Wall Street) are bailed out, they will always know Uncle Sam is there to insure the risk. So it will only get worse.
Take the medicine now.

This "bailout" wouldn't bail out a thimble.
In order to unfreeze the credit markets and make any kind of difference whatsoever, additional capital needs to be added to the markets. Additional capital that the banks can then turn around and lend.
Taking away bad debt from their balance sheets doesn't do squat to add capital, UNLESS the government, for some strange perverted paid-for reason, pays MORE than the value of the debt it is assuming...otherwise it is a straight up swap with no accretive value to the banks whatsoever.
Where the Senate is playing cute is with their gutting of the 'mark-to-market' provisions. That will allow lenders to artificially inflate the value of their worthless debt. Just like that worthless debt was artificially inflated for bundling into instruments to be sold to investors for more than it was really worth.
So all that this newest incarnation of a bail out does is saddle America with not only the projected $700 billion cost of the original (seriously flawed and not well-thought out) plan, but with an additional $100+++ billion in bribes to Congress to vote for this steaming pile of manure. And if it does anything, it will REDUCE the world's confidence in American debt because the whole world will understand that the balance sheets of American lenders are now likely pure fiction and wishful thinking.
This current administration, their drones and enablers in Congress are just pathetic. It's time for a new revolution.
Unfortunately, the general citizenry seems to be representative of our glorious leaders, and vice versa. All I hear about is if the bailout goes through the housing market will take off like a rocket and all will be good again. Can people really not comprehend that the housing market of the last 5 years was a mirage built on bogus assumptions and criminal practices. Do they REALLY think that it's coming back to save the world??
I need an island somewhere...

I don't believe this. Yesterday evening I went to the post office and I had a letter from some bank that was telling me I could have credit to buy a house no matter how bad my credit rating is. Can't they even wait until the first disaster is a day or so past to start another one?
