I think electric cars, and cng powered vehichles should start showing up in all govt. jobs. That means anything staying within a certain radius to be practical. Now that our usage has slowed down, because of cost. They want to slow down production to keep up demand & cost. They have their hands on our throats. I think it's time to cut their hands off at their wrist.............

Actually one of my jobs is acquiring alternative fuel vehicles for the base I work at, I have purchased 17 NEV with plans to purchase more, they are a plug in electric, as well as CNG vehicles, and I have started a project in conjunction with others to build a hydrogen plant at the water treatment plant, and use the hydrogen to fuel busses and forklift., this is still an ongoing project it is in the contract stage now, and should be on line in a few years.

Man!, I invested early into what I thought was a promising EV company, lucky I got out with a $0.01 profit. From what I learned, the battery that will give you about 100 mi. on a single charge is the 'key'. Only problem..it hasn't been invented yet!.
VW has a 'polo', manufactured in europe only, that gets 65-70 MPG. It's a 3 cylinder turbo diesel and not a bad looking small 4 door sedan, I sure hope they import to the U.S.?.

California will do any and everything in it's power to ban anything which might remotely resemble a diesel.
Current technology just isn't there for anything feasible. Considering the free market exchange for energy, it is just too costly.

c b,
That's what we need. There is a South African catamaran company, Fastcat, and also Lagoon that are building electrical hybrid catamarans. Some just aren't willing to give up the old. The new scares them. Kind of like some here .......LOLOLOLOL
