I like pbase the best, though I do use a lot of others, Flickr is good too.
Stats from pbase,,,,
"View Galleries : Jane has 47 galleries and 1766 images online.
These pages have been viewed a total of 252950 times."
and this is only one of my 3 accounts there.
Its worth the $, as they are so versitile, you can CSS your own background images and more if you take the time.

Jane,

I must have read the information wrong when I was looking to see what their price and storage capacity was. I thought they said 50MB which in this day and age isn't a lot of pictures considering most digital cameras take default pictures in the 900KB to 2MB range. I will go take more time looking through their stuff.

Ron :(

jcarter 01-05-2009 07:36 AM

Its low for a trial account, but much higher for paid accounts.
I started Freddie off with a trial account, but will tie all 3 toghether sometime today.
Jane

Ron61 01-05-2009 07:43 AM

Was I wrong on the amount of space for a paid account? Is there any limit to the size and amount of pictures that you can have?

Ron :o

jcarter 01-05-2009 08:15 AM

Here is the pricing info, really cheap for what we get, lots of storage.
http://www.pbase.com/pricing.html
I do cut the size down for most photos, but if youve got a special one that you want family or friends do be able to download and print, you can upload a monster if needed.

Just talked with Fred, we dont have time to do the captions yet, but here are the first few pictures anyway.
Click on the Hawaii one, the picture of our dog is just a place holder for uploading till I get this account set up and merged with the others.

.......ME tell YOU aboot compootahs? Like Mike Ditka explaining the finer points of ballet!!! Ar-ar-ar-ar!

I'm a (sometime artist, historian and [sometimes] writer)----if you want your sailboat to go upwind as well (or better) than any in the race, or you want a cord of wood split and stacked, I'm your protohominid----compootahs? Bwana no teach Freddie compootah? Instrument of the Devil!

Old tech, okay....NEW tech? Huh?

Ar, etc.

Put the lash on Janie, she'll post 'em.

Chow,

Freddie & Jane,

Those are great pictures. Darn Freddie you should be a photographer. I really liked the one from the ship looking out at the Arizona Memorial. I stood on that dock a couple of times and looked out at the Arizona Memorial before leaving. I wish I had been able to spend a few days just hiking and travelling through the mountains. Maybe borrow Ernie's Cobra for a blast up the winding roads.

I have almost always been better at beating than running or reaching myself. I am also able to keep more of the main up in a good breeze than most other people can but I'm not afraid to really crank on the outhaul to flatten the bottom half.:LOL: (non-sailors are saying "what's he talking about?"):eek:

Wayne,

You are right. This is for the most part an English speaking site. Please put your posts in English instead of code.

Ron

Ron

As Fred would say, Ar-ar-ar-arrrrr.:LOL::LOL:

"Beating" sailing close to the wind.
"Reaching" sailing off of the wind.
"Running" sailing straight down wind.

I'm sure that the rest is very clear. :o;)%/:LOL:

Haey Wayne,

Are you close to St. Hubert? During Expo 67, while sampling CClub underway, I took my HUGE Pontiac Station Wagon down the "UP" ramp near Montreal!!!!

Ar-ar-ar-ooooogle.

Heck, that was only 42 years ago! (?!)

Yikes!

jcarter 01-05-2009 03:50 PM

Oh, heavens, I do remember that!
But that was a great time anyway. Expo 67, yes it was fun.
Jane

Wayne Maybury 01-06-2009 08:59 AM

I live in St. Hubert which is just south of Montreal. So yes, I live where you could have met your maker 42 years ago. By the way, CC & ice, that's nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:

.......alas, the Mother Wagon (1960 Pontiac Bonneville [!] Station Wagon, mit gros motor, [408 ci?]) is now in GM Heaven. The 1968 Geneva Arms Convention classified it as an "extreme and inappropriate weapon" (tank destroyer category).

Ar-ar-ar-ar-ooooooogah!

jcarter 01-06-2009 11:08 AM

Wasnt that the engine that was in our cellar for a while?
Along with Steve's fixed-wing iceboat?
Jane

Fred Douglass 01-06-2009 12:14 PM

Nope

Wayne Maybury 01-06-2009 01:51 PM

Ice boat, now that is something I have wanted to try for a very long time.
Do you still have it?
Can I borrow it for a couple of hours?

:)

I just went back and looked at all of the pictures he has posted so far. Beautiful and really makes me wish I could go there for a week or so. The weather really looked nice and Freddie looked in great shape.

Ron :)

Fred Douglass 01-07-2009 07:10 PM

I did ("look in great shape")?!?

Maybe for a Rhino or su'un!

Ar, etc.

Ron61 01-08-2009 03:44 AM

Wayne,

All of my boating experiences on the ocean have consisted of days of throwing up. I am the worlds worst person when it comes to ships and the ocean. I have been out past the Golden Gate probably 10 to 15 times in my life and have never made it past the huge swells they have there before I get sick. On the way to Korea the Navy doctor told me that he had never seen anyone stay as sick as I did and even the shots didn't help. I lost over 50 pounds on that trip and I didn't have much to lose to start with. Now I could well afford to lose at least 65 pounds. Maybe I had best plan a trip back to the islands.

Freddie,

You look in great shape in this picture. Very nice scenery too.
