pc picked up a bug/how to get rid of it
one of my pc's picked up some kind of infection. when i do a search the results are all some kind of shopping stuff with a header of what i was looking for. i've tried avg, adaware, spybot, malwarebytes' and can't get rid of it.
i'm not too computer literate so if anyone has any remedies i'd appreciate it. i talked to the neighbor who is computer savy and he said he has one he is fighting also. i can run scans using all the above and the search will work once, on the second search it is back. thanks. |
Copy whatever message you are getting about the problem and do a Google search. There you will find an explaination of how to fix it. Normally, your virus software should fix it.

i don't get a message, i just don't get the search material i should. i can take two diff. laptops and do the same search and the one with the bug gives me all sorts of different stuff.
here's an example of a search for jbl cobra. unless they've changed their web site...... |
here is the same search from uninfected pc.

'Redirect', you picked it up when you opened something?. I've had the same problem, Reset your computer to an earlier date, it worked for me.
if your using windows xp click start go to all programs click on accesories go to system tools click on system restore and follow the instructions to pick the date you would like to restore to. |
fixed the problem. used windows live onecare and deleted avg, spybot, and adaware.
for some reason i couldn't set computer to earlier date, restore was turned off. thanks |
