Talking NOW we New Englanders feel out kinship to northrn Midwesterners!

Wonder how ALGore is doing? Raking in gobs o' "Global Warming" "carbon credits" I bet!

Whatta crock. It was -23 F. in southern Vermont this a.m. It's a balmy +14 F. on Olde Cape Codde now (0900 hrs.), and it's snowing pretty steadily. Nice 2-3" dusting on top of "hard-pan" ice.

H-m-m-m-m, the old seemingly-immortal Toyota 4x4 is going to go in 4-wheel today. But not before I shovel out 2" inches of accumulated "Global Warming"! Ar-ar-ar

Freddie,

You need to invite Gore out for a snow shoveling party and have him explain how warm it is to you. It was -60 in Alaska a day or so ago and I saw it was -14 in Massena, New York where I used to live.

Oh well, I have to sweat out another 74 degree day. Since we can't get the rain we so badly need, I had rather have these type days than just the darn cold and nothing else.

Ron

Ron,
Did you ever get any rain to speak of? I am wondering how the lake is doing. You may be in for a rough ride this year as far as water goes.

Talking

...

My understanding of the supposed conclusion of Global Warming is that, first the moderate temperature belt moves north taking rainfall north with it.

Then the icecaps melt killing ocean currents. Without ocean currents, earth flips back to two new huge icecaps with a hot desert belt around the middle which is the normal state of earth.

The new ice-age arrives without the moderating effects of warm off-shore sea air warming continents well above the equatorial regions.

So, Fred, if there is any left, send some of that warm sea air to the middle of the continent, will you?
And first dump the moisture on New York like usual. The only good part about living here was we didn't have to shovel all this much and it was never this d@mn cold.

Wes

I don't know...I was riding my bike and driving the Cobra 2 days after Christmas around here. 66 degrees and sunny at the end of December. Never thought I would see that.

Record HEAT temps here in L.A. ........ Gotta be the Global warming!!! lol !!!

Wes...YOU have the right idea. This could all have been avoided if it was called "Global Weather Discombobulation", or something of the sort!

Only 9 °F here just south of Bawstun. Its all the heat being expelled from our glorious politikians that keeps Bawstum extra warm.

Today they had the funeral service for a fireman killed when the fire truck brakes failed. They shut down half the city of Quincy .... estimates were 5000 to 8000 in attendance.

I'm bored. I want to go for a ride.

Steve,

No we haven't had any rain at all and they are already talking about water rationing next Winter. We should be having rain right now by the week and instead it is in the 70s every day. But next week they say we have more COLD weather on the way. Of course no rain is shown. A bonanza for the doctors from the people that can still afford to go in as the colds and flu are running rampart around here with out radical weather changes. I talked to a city worker yesterday and he told me that if we don't get Noah type rains and snow in the Cascades soon, next Summer the lake will be the lowest it has ever been since they first started filling it. They may eve have to go in and extend the water pipes that the pumps use to draw water for the city to keep them in the water.

" A rare deep freeze warms the Dutch soul "

IHT | Jan 16, 2009

By John Tagliabue

" NIEUWERKERK AAN DEN IJSSEL, the Netherlands — For the first time in 12 years, the Netherlands’ canals froze this month, bringing the Dutch, who like their tulips in neat rows, a heady mix of pandemonium and euphoria.

Hundreds of thousands of skaters, their cheeks as red as apples in the subzero temperatures, took to the ice, and hospital wards were filled with dozens of people with fractured arms, sprained ankles and broken legs.

Train engineers were ordered to go slowly to avoid hitting skaters who clambered over railway tracks to get from one frozen canal to another. Even the minister of defense, an avid skater, fell and broke his wrist. His ministry announced that the national defense remained in safe hands, even if one of them was in a cast. "

Talking The Big Deal is.........

......where's all the Globull Wahmin' that those pin-headed liberal navel-gazers promised us? As soon as I got all my lawn furncher out and set up last week, it hits 8 deg. F!

Actually, Olde Cape Codde sits out far enuff into the Atlantic, that it usually stays 10 F warmer than the "mainland" and it usually gets "snow turning to mix"-----and, speaking of that prediction------I STILL don't know why everyone's always pickin' on the Oirish!

Ar, etc.

We had a 20* rise in temp yesterday -15 to +5 and this am it was -10 and went to +15 this afternoon but my workshop stays a comfy 60*, thanks to my trusty wood stove and the free pallets from TSC that I hauled home among lots laughing last summer, now I can work on my Cobra build and not go broke.

Doesn't matter how cold it is...it is the snow.

It appears to be non-stop.
