It's +28 and a 'house' marathon on USAHD, it's a good day.

C'mon Warren, let's have that per capita "bailout" figure. Some wag (temporarily detached from his dawg) said that it could be in the neighborhood of 150-220K. No chit! Could this be true? I was trying to remember the non-criminalien* population of this Grand Old Republic. Wasn't it su'un like 280-290 million? Divided into X trillion? Okay, you take over here Warren....

I may have posted it - feel free to look.
Your guestimate would be waaaaaaay off. C'mon - this is simple math...are they not teaching old farts basic math skills anymore? Use 300M for the population - it will make the total easier.
Heres a hint - it's probably less that your monthly income, and you will need a vinculum.

Thumbs down Ahhh the ad hominem is SO predictable coming from the likes of you....

...I shall seek elsewhere------in more amicable climes, as it were. Oh, BTW, I did celestial nav. and lotsa spherical trig whilst working for our mutual Uncle. And, I'm not so old as to be incapable of teaching hubristic youngsters a thing or two, re respect (as in "respect given is respect earned").

Stick that in yer bong and smoke it!

Freddie,
Not saying your "Old" but Ron61 told me a story and I was wondering if it was so.

He told me he saw you sail the very first boat singlehanded. He says he was already pretty old so he isn't too sure about the singlehanded part.

Freddie,

That is not at all what I said. The first boat didn't have sails and you would have been lost. You are just a kid and Fred hasn't reached puberty yet.

Ron

Wink T'wasn't directed at YOU, Fred!

..anyway...Ronnie saw me in "the very first boat"? As in, a Neanderthal clutching a uprooted tree as it roared down some Holocene glacial melt-off stream?

I may be a fossil form of man, but I'm not THAT old!

Ar-ar-ar-ar-ooooooooooodle!

If I didn't have to put up with multiple copies of your pitchfork/Niagara comment I would have been happy to help...as I did when you were looking for info about old phonograph needles on the South Shore and a link to a Reagan speech. Respect indeed...
Stick it where you like.

All right...let me get this straight...I point out that people are comparing apples to oranges, I get insulted for it, I respond in kind when asked to go further than the homework I already did for them, the Mod steps in and asks us to stop, then I take more shots from the same?

Seriously, Jamo...WTF? You know I am not the type to go running to a mod any time somebody takes a swing at me, but if others do not have to play by the same rules, then where is the fun in that?

And a little OT - what is going on with the 'Models, Collectibles, and Literature' forum? The would give me something better to do than endlessly berating silly old gets for their petty hypocrisies.

Freddie and Perry,
Real simple for those of you with Oldtimers...
2-3 years ago Freddie asked for help with:
1. Finding a replacement needle for his record player - I told him about a place in Plymouth, MA that I used to go to (I used to live about 60 miles north of him and I still occasionally listen to vinyl).
2. Finding a copy of a Reagan speech online - took me about 30 seconds (and 20 of that was computer lag), and I forwarded the info to him.

And since neither of you seem to be able to make sense of what I say then I guess you can ignore the numbers I posted as you would rather live in your own little world where facts don't matter as long as you can call yourself a conservative.

Oh, and the answer is $3333.33 for 300M Americans for those of you too lazy or ignorant to open the calculator on your compootah. You are on your own for vinculum though.

Though I suppose I do have to give Freddie a small amount of credit - he is the only one (that I know of) to get the 'vroom' joke for my screen name unprompted.

Back to our regularly scheduled program...

Someone on the talk radio today mentioned something that I thought was actually good point. One of the big costs associated with all the inaugurations is the cleanup. This person suggested that the 2 million people should have carried out what they brought in. I tend to agree - it fits in with Obamas message of taking responsibility and saving the environment.
